Windows iPhone 3G jailbreak tool released

Sure, it was already possible (if complicated) to jailbreak a first-gen iPhone running the 2.0 software under Windows, but this is the one-click tool all you crazy cats with those extra G's need if you don't have a Mac -- too bad no one's come up with a better name than "pwn" yet. Please, people. Let's do better.

PS.- As usual, you run the risk of totally destroying your phone mucking around with this stuff, so don't say we didn't warn you.

getting Apllication failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135)
didnt have 1.0 installed

I tried using winpwn to modify the firmware downloaded from Apple. When using the IPSW Builder I get a failure just after 'extracting root file system'. Hmm.

I made my custom IPSW and when I put my iPhone into DFU mode and try to install the custom firmware it extracts the software and when its preping the phone for restore I get an error six. I kinda remember getting a simalar error the first time I installed 2.0

Any suggestions?

Just having a he!! of a time with pwning my ipod Touch. Was pwn'ed on 1.1.4, then did the upgrade to 2.0/7.7 itunes (Paid $10)... now i tried pwning today, and it is a bookend... crap.

If you set to build without Cydia mine seems to build the ipsw file,

soon as you add Cydia it chucks up a error.

Hey, i can create the custom files, but when i click Ipwner and select the custom file, it sais your itunes is being pwnd then Freezes and sais winpwn has stopped working? So it wont allow me to actually put the edited IPSW onto my iphone, How can i make itunes allow it to restore from the custom IPSW?

After several hours of attempts to use this, but ending up with no signal or such problems, I finally do it.
I have signal on T-Mobile, & everything seems fine, but when I close the phone, it just wouldn't start again. That loading circle just keeps on going over & over again. At some point, the phone just started vibrating and it wouldn't stop. It's like two vibrates, then two more, then two more. At first, this happened, while the thing was frozen with the loading every once in a while, but then it just started happening all together and it wouldn't stop til I force shut down (held the power & home buttons).
Sorry for any hard-to-understand phrases or arrangements of words, but I've been up for a long time, & I'm off to bed now.
I'm reverting back to 1.1.4 tomorrow, if there are any comments, do reply :)
