You've probably heard by now that the infamous
Zune Guy ("Microsoft Zune") was so disappointed with Microsoft that he's elected to have his
ink removed in place of something more in line with his shifted priorities. In addition to the reconstructive work he's going to have, ZG claims that Microsoft actually
lied to him about his free trip to the Redmond campus, which (as you might imagine) further tarnishes his image of the company. Unfortunately, according to reps from Microsoft we spoke with, the trip was never confirmed -- only discussed -- and ultimately canceled due to the very reasonable fear that it might lead a lot of "hyper-engaged users" to expect a trip of their own (though they did hook our man up with a free Zune and some related swag). What you probably haven't heard (or seen) is his sprawling video rant, in which he accuses the big M of dropping the ball on his favorite PMP before going on a general rage-bender. We've included the video after the break (careful moms, it's full of expletives), as well as link to a zunescene forum where the Zune Guy reveals he's just purchased a new PMP... an iPod.

Quite the feat to always look like you just woke up from a 3-day hibernation.
I have NEVER understood why the iPOD lovers hate the Zune people. These things are not your life, or your child. They are a device that plays music. I think the real issue is fear. Once your on iTUNE you have to stay there, their DRM strangle hold is so strong. So if anything ever did topple iPOD you migh never get any more music. Or, they could all be shallow pinheads with nothing else to do.
Simple. There is a segment of Apple users, a large one might I add, that has no life. And generates self respect and that they belong to something important via the Apple cult\gang\etc. So when anything comes along to even remotely threaten or compete against their wonderful Apple products they get on the offensive because Apple has trained their chimps to act that way. To shun anything that isn't Apple.
Any company in the world would absolutely KILL for Apple users. Because they are the best customers. They don't question the products that are put out by Apple and go on the warpath whenever something else comes out to compete against it. This basically guarantees sales and makes Apple the envy of the industry for having such lemmings who will never complain if they put out a shit product *coughs*AppleTV*coughs*
Meanwhile Windows users are more then aware of MS's shortcomings and when a viable option does come up many if not most will bite. Sadly Apple isn't an options because of something else. Windows users aren't going to go out and buy new hardware just for a fucking OS, when their current hardware is perfectly fine.
What it comes down to is many, not all, but many Apple user's are elitist snobs who need to feel special in some way so they want to get in on the Mac thing. Because if I'm not running Windows I'm special. For them its not about getting a job done on your computer. Its about the impression that because you are running Apple you are better then everyone else. Sadly that impresion is simply in the delusional brains of these fools and the rest of us just point and laugh. Which makes them puff up and get all defensive like, which makes everyone come running to support the product\person\etc and the cycle continues.
And the person who started all this was the the king of the delusional morons Steve "Walks on iWater" Jobs. The say he either retires or is forced to retire is going to be a wonderful day for the world. It will take time to remove this brainwashing from people but it will happen. Sort of like how replacing Fidel Castro isn't going to cause change overnight but it will happen.

If a product that this so called guy voluntarily bought and decided to tatoo into his skin without any one from Redmond is enough to cause this much of ranting from him bout his disappointment about the entire company or comparisons of other systems (devices) in the market, then may be he should cut back on his gadget addiction and may be on the coffee too...eh, afterall, no1 forced him in d force place.....why going around the interwebz bashing out on a company you're no where affiliated with?

Ya know, bless his little heart, but he's very over-zealous when it comes to his technology products. Not because he supported the Zune (or any product, for that matter) but because he GOT A TATTOO of it on his body.
You all can knock Zunes all you want; but you have to admit that anyone who gets a corporate logo tattoo lacks a little bit of the Logic Membrane - unless they own the company. (That goes for folks who have Apple logos, too.)
I'm not making fun of the guy, I'm glad the world has people like this. There are things I care about a lot too. But two things:
1. You shouldn't attach yourself so personally to a product like this, and...
2. ...If you do, you gotta stick it out, even through the low points, the bad seasons, the disappointments. Otherwise you just reveal how you're not really enough of a fan to have gotten that tat in the first place.
