PS3 homebrew capabilities inevitably leads to Pong
If you'll recall, the evolution of homebrew on the Wii started out quite similar to this. First comes the Hello World proof of concept, then comes Pong. It would just be wrong to unfold otherwise, right? Dragula96, the same guru who whipped up the original homebrew hack, has now introduced 2 Player Pong 1.0 -- the first notable game to take advantage of the Java devkit (at least, that's how it looks from here). Currently, the collisions are "very basic" and further tweaks are necessary before it's perfect, but it should be stable enough to take you to some sort of blissful state for now.

I thought that Sony had always advertised that the PS3 will support several versions of Linux, so you don't have to do hacks to play Pong.
What!? No DOOM yet?
Nice!
Uhm.. This is NOT homebrew as on the Wii.. This is using a feature of the bluray specs to create a java game... This kinda homebrew will never go beyond the javaspecs of bluray, and should work on any blurayplayer.. So it's nothing really special..
So the hax0r has been reduced to making Java Pong with the PS3, not penetrating the secure walls of the PS3 domicile.
I think we can all agree Sony have done a great job securing their baby.
Could someone explain to me nicely what this homebrew is? A custom firmware such as the PSP's? Or a firware built from the ground up to make a custom OS type enviroment?
