New Xbox 360 Dashboard update gets leaked, shown off

Sure, we've seen the Xbox 360's forthcoming Dashboard update demoed in a polished presentation and detailed in high res press pics, but if you're like us, you don't really get exciting about something until it's leaked out into the wild and shown off blurry cam-style. The particularly adventurous can apparently even take their chances and install this new "Xbox Experience" update themselves, but the exact details about where to get it and how to install it are understandably a bit hard to come by. If you do go that route, however, you'll need to make sure you have a modded console with an Infectus 2 Chip in the system and, most likely, a second 360 to fall back on in the event the first bursts into flames. The rest of us will just have to make do with the video after the break.

It looks much quicker; one thing I never liked about the current interface is some of the delay.. The PS3 XMB is much smoother and quicker..
I had to scroll down this far for a PS3 post?
Who needs a PS3 when you have a XBOX.
Its been so long since someone mentioned PS3, no joke.
Any chance you can check if it has any new codec support from within the media center extender interface? Specifically x264/mkv/divx/xvid support would be great! Thanks!

I'd think that depends on the media center extender program, which I believe is stored on your media center computer.
Yep.. Thats one thing I could never understand. Videos that play fine in Vista Media Center on the PC, also play fine If I access them through the shared directory on the XBox 360. If I use the the 360 as a Media Extender and run Media Center through the 360, it can't play the videos. I really hope the have that fixed. I use the PC and VMC as my tuner for the TV using the 360 as an extender since it allows me to pause live TV and the processing cleans up the cable picture quite a bit.
Awesome so its basically like Sonys XMB now. Finally something less confusing.
*cough* Front Row *cough*
I hope to god that those gay avatars will not be forced O___o i wanna stick with my gamer pic's
dashboard is for real. a little bird tells me netflix will be on it also.
fall update.
It looks fake to me. It has all the hallmarks.
* 'leet' lettering to prevent font comparison.
* unclear jewel-button pushing that could easily disguise another button being pushed
* Menu items don't match those shown in any of the E3 press briefing
* This could very easily be faked in an XNA application.
As a final point, I'd say that the xbox is black with a white faceplace. This messes up the aesthetics of the thing, and besides, if you were showing off your xbox, you want it to look good, right?
Basically, don't believe it until you see it booting up from off.
