ASUS moving forward on ZX1 cancellation, adding two other phones?
CNET Asia has apparently received word that not only will ASUS' Lamborghini-branded ZX1 smartphone be canceled (as we mentioned earlier this month), but the company will also be putting the brakes on its forthcoming P560 and M536 phones as well. In a statement issued presumably to CNET, the company claims that the project has been postponed due to the "technical immaturity of a key component from one of our suppliers," though they seem to have left the door open for a reboot. We know one thing for sure -- it's clear that the P560 and M536 weren't those "more important devices" the company made reference to previously. They probably need the resources for another 25 versions of the Eee PC.

Lame...............
25 versions more of the Eee PC ftw!
Sweet. Those extra 25 versions of the Eee PC will allow them to announce one new model every nine days with time off for the Christmas holidays. Let me know when a version of the Eee PC with the built-in Swiss Army knife arrives. I always wanted one of those.
Eee Phone, perhaps? *shudder*
"They probably need the resources for another 25 versions of the Eee PC"
LOL!!!
Asus and Lamborghini are clearly diluting each others brands.
Holy crap. That Lambo ran head-on into the iPhone 3G and practically disintegrated. The Lambo's parts were sent flying everywhere and in the end there wasn't anything left. Normally, a collision of such magnitude would be a tragedy, but in this case, nobody gave a crap one way or the other. Rest in peace, Lamborghini ZX1, and may the buzzards pick at your carcass.
It's a shame, ASUS is one of those companies that just happens to make great stuff on a regular basis. I've had tons of ASUS boards for my PCs and they are all of exceptional quality. I've had an ASUS laptop and it was fantastic as well. It's a shame I'm not into netbooks because they're throwing so much of their weight behind them.
Asus made cell phones??? I honestly had no idea. Were they any good?
They handled like a bull.
Yes actually. I have a M530W and while being you can't really call a Win Mobile 6 Smartphone amazing the build quality is great, the QWERTY keyboard is the best i've used and it runs fast enough for me to actually like windows mobile. Let's just hope they use they use all that leftover UI research to upgrade mine to 6.1.
