T-Mobile 3G service coming October 1 to 27 markets
We were already pretty sure this would be happening, but it's looking real now, if 8.5 x 11-inch pieces of paper taped to a window is any indication: T-Mobile is rolling out its 3G service on October 1 to 27 select cities. The above poster was spotted by TmoNews "outside a meeting" and, as you can see, it says, "10.1.08 3G is Coming." As far as those launch cities, we have a handy little list for you after the break. By the way, it's entirely possible T-Mobile 3G is already live in your market, though, so don't let this confuse you too much. It could just mean you're next, or, at least by October 1.

The current iPhone 3G will not support 3G on T-Mobile USA's network. Different radio band, just as you said.
@ XIYL
I had TMobile and my phone would lose service for 15-30 minutes at a time every morning & night. I was also dropping a lot of calls too...and I lived in Miami - where 3G is slated to go! I got fed up with it and jumped ship to AT&T...where I'm so much happier with my iPhone.
The Blackberry bold will be out on T-Mobile around that time anyway, AT&T's exclusive is 6 weeks only.
I am personally hoping for an Android phone with a slide out keyboard.
I heard the Blackberry Bold was going to be on T-Mobiles list of phones about a month after AT&T.
I'm glad to see T-Mobile finally catching up with the speeds the other major carriers offer here in the USA. Competition is what helps to give us consumers a better choice. I see this as good for all of us.
The official Oct 1st launch date lines up with the N96 launch date. Anyone think this could be the new handset for T-Mobile in the US?
When's 3G coming to the Gulf Coast of MS? I realize we're just lowly old Mississippi but we want it too! :D
HTC Dream is looking to be the big cheese..

i myself wouldnt even mind a BBbold/9000,
the only downfall is i love the low price of my sidekick unlimited data plan.
and from what their saying the new 3G plan will be
even more than the BB unlimited =[
