Aigo's Atom-packin' MID gets unboxed
Aigo's MID (more formally known as the MID P8860) just arrived in the anxious hands of UMPC Fever, and of course, it uploaded a number of photographs so we could all share in the joyous unboxing experience. Granted, you've already seen so many in the wild shots that you aren't apt to be surprised, but we're rather impressed with just how nicely everything was arranged inside of the subtle black box. We'd totally have to debadge it (is the Atom sticker really necessary... really?), but other than that it's not a half bad item to have residing in your rear pocket. More shots in the read link.

It looks rather similar to a Nokia N810.
Yes! I agree. Nokia N810 in silver at first glance. Not even any attempt to hide the design copy.
With all the ultra portables out now I still fail to see a huge consumer desire for one of these devices. They normally have piss poor battery life, aren't made for most smaller pockets (So, like a laptop they still have to be carried around in a bag or hands), and are unrealistically priced. It's just not time for MIDs yet.
Yeah, but this is sexy.
Laptop = Bag
UMPC = Pouch
MID = Pocket
This is why MID > UMPC if you want to carry it everywhere. (Taking and booting out a laptop to/in a public bathroom might be a bit odd)
Well, what I'm saying is that once you have a case on that thing to make it pocket worthy, I think that it would be at a very uncomfortable size and thickness. Besides, I'm sure it costs an arm... something I don't see very productive if it's going into a higher friction and damage area like a pants pocket.
I saw the HTC 6700 Apache.
forza good pages thank you.

looks not half bad.
As a Nokia N810 owner and an OQO 01+ owner... I'd buy something like this in an instant at the right price.
Yes. That sticker is necessary. That's what the iPhone needs.
Got an iPhone 3G after Centro (Sprint) kept erasing contacts, bothering me with crude 1990's interface. I was floored -this is 1984 all over again going from DOS to a GUI. Nothing seems irrational, everything is well designed. It is my prrecious.
Did you see the power adapter?
WTF?
Do they understand that they just blew the size of their rather nice ultraportable by making the power brick HUGE???
The OQO suffers from the same issue.
My Nokia 770 has a miniscule power supply, making it even more portable.
Too bad it isn't more powerful.
I really want to get a small MID, but they better think about the accessories more.
And is it too much to ask that they at least ATTEMPT to make it USB chargeable?
