Lenovo's S10 netbook gets the hands-on treatment
Lenovo's S10 netbook might not be too daring in the design department, but it's still a pretty classy piece of kit -- mix that in with the $399 starting price point and Lenovo's marketing muscle, and we'd say that these first hands-on shots are just a prelude of things to come. Tons more shots at the read link.

she can give me her hands-on treatment any day of the week :D
I'd like her to give ME the hands-on treatment
No props to Lenovo for the comatose-grade demeanor of that prop actress...
that would be a chick from cnet taiwan, not lenovo.
She can give me some.. "Hands on" treatment. :-D
ok.
what os?
what is the ExpressCard/34 for ?
If you follow the "Read" link, both the S9 and S10 have an Intel Atom N270 processor and 1GB of memory.
The S9 has an 8.9" screen, 8 GB SSD, Linux OS
The S10 has a 10.2" screen, 80 GB HDD, Windows XP Home OS
Also, here's a good place to read up on what ExpressCard is:

I'm an idiot, I thought that said $10 laptop.
I'd love to try to the Asus ee or this S10. Hopefully Toshiba can do something like this too, I don't think Sony can ever do this because their price is always over the top. HP could soon join in the game too.
And Dell, my best advice to them is to quit making computers because their computers and laptops just sucks ass. My fucking Dell broke down 3 times a year to a point that I had to dump it and bought a compaq for the urgent replacement. No wonder Dell always rank low in quality and reliability ranking annually that dominated by Apple and Lenovo.
More stories on Dell here.
Despite my warning, my friend went on to buy a Dell computer including a Dell monitor 6 months ago. YE FUCKING GREAT !!
It starts to act erratic recently, and there is a thin white strip on the computer screen which i don't even what that is. The cursor does not even point correctly at where it is supposed to go. The machine now is making a lot of noises despite being 6 months old. NICE !!!
It takes 5 minutes to completely load up the windows and the computer DOES NOT have any games, just pure Internet use.
What is wrong with you DELL ? I HATE YOU.
Bitch, bitch, bitch all you want. Dell has some of the best tech support in the business if you know how to use it to get help. Try that with the bozos at some of the other PC makers.
If your friend is having troubles and still has warranty, call Dell or better yet do an on-line chat.It avoids the problem of having phobias about speaking to someone who doesn't have English as their first language.
"Supplied front of the light, the icon is a three-dimensional relief, India is not the boost, I feel quite special."
Ummmm .. did anyone else notice the stupid placement of the right shift key? :\ Was looking quite good up to that point.
(For those of you too lazy to click the read link, the right shift key is to the right of the arrow keys! WTF indeedy.)
"Continue to grasp the shortcomings of the keyboard: the lower right corner is a big key right direction, but was Saidao the Shift key to the next, so it is easy pressed the wrong."
This would be perfect it was 8.3in instead of 8.9 and they gave us 10ssd or 12gb ssd base and a trackpoint eraserhead like their other laptops.
also I don't like the fact that the 8.9in model is the same size. You would think they would make the device a little smaller if the screen size was smaller.
it's OK to say nipple.
Oh jeez!
For a second there. I thought that it was a mac!
Great job copying though.
yeah... haven't you heard? Apple has just patented the colour "white". Bet this Netbook's plastic won't start showing cracks after a short time though.
huh ? Do apple Mac show cracks after short time ? I have never used an Apple laptop before, I dunno.
Btw doesn't this S10 also come in piano black ? or just black colour ?
how come no one has brought up the fact that it looks like this puppy has the titanium hinges that we all know and love on our think pads. call me a fan boy, but ive never had a loose hinge issue on any one of my ibm/lenovos. since this little guy is going to get tossed in and out of bags, i think build quality should be just as important as ram
Some of the translations on the Chinese CNet page are a real scream. reads like a poorly subtitled Chop Saki movie.
She's awfully ugly...really.
All of a sudden, I'm not annoyed but thankful that MSI screwed up their timetable and continues to provide scant info about US avail. While I don't wait forever for the next big thing, and I'm not waiting for the Dell, I will wait for this.
This is getting really annoying ive just got an Eee PC 901 and every day since i got it another netbook seems to be coming out which seems to be better and cheaper
If the one holding looks like those hot samsung or lg chic, then I would seriously consider it.
Does it come with the girl?
I'm sorry, but until the price of these machines go below $200 I'm not going to bother with any of them.
No need to apologize, bud. But keep in mind, you're going to be waiting for a very long time before you get one at that price.
ROFL @ the translation. "India is not the boost, I feel quite special."
Hi David
Re your question:
Quote: "Something has to explain why I can't buy a 6-cell MSI WIND for love or money in the USA. I've tried FOUR times, and each time, the e-tailer is out-of-stock until "who knows"? "
FYI There was a major fire in the factory that manufactures the 6-cell batteries (believe it was LG), so only 3-cell batteries are available for the time being, until they can ramp up production at other plants !
