Dell offering up a $299 Xbox 360 Elite while supplies last

Dell did its best to unload its seemingly abundant supply of Xbox 360 Elite bundles by selling them alongside XPS M1730 machines, but just in case a few of you didn't have $3,000 set aside to score the both of them, Dell is now offering the Elite bundle all by its lonesome for mere $299 -- a nice $150 savings. To un-sweeten the deal, they're also tossing in a couple ugly faceplates, Forza 2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Get 'em before they're gone.

Toke about an hour of taking to service and sales reps but I GOT ONE just now. I had talked to a rep yesterday who gave me the runaround but i got connected, through a random series of events, to a manager and he gave me yesterdays price today. Also he told me that it as a limited offer yesterday with just 2000 units to sell at the price and it sold out in an hour sooo good luck guys IT IS STILL POSSIBLE

I called directly and they have a memo about this deal. Although now it states 449 on the website you can still get the deal if you call directly. I am working with Maria at 18003573355 ext:7244161


And they gave him the run around. I told him to complain about not being able to purchase it and how it was messed up how he had it in his cart and when he went to check out they had changed the price. They transferred him 5 times and told him that they would not be able to give him the price because they lacked the authority. At this point he threatened to call the Better Business Bureau and complain about false and misleading advertising. He let them know that he has been a Dell customer for years and that he felt cheated and mislead. They apologized but said that n they could not do anything and that it was a technical error on the web designers side. That was all this morning but a few minutes ago Maria at Dell called him back and told him that because of the large amount of calls that are being made in regards to this issue; they are petitioning to sell it to those who called. Please call the number mentioned in MAV’s post and press the issue. Let them know that around 3:00 pm EST yesterday you had the xbox in your cart and upon trying to purchase it the price reset.

Mine shipped today at the $299 price. Whether it was a pricing error or a special deal, I don't care... ;)

Now I just have to wait to see if it is the falcon or craptastic motherboard...

I have found anecdotal evidence on the internets that there are bundle elites with the newer heatsinks and motherboards.

(FYI, the way to tell is to check the wattage on your box. 175=good, 206=okay).

Other buyers - please post your wattage when you get them!

Update...

I was at BestBuy today and found a recent Holiday Bundle Edition. The manufacture date was 4-15-2008. This is well after the Falcon was introduced. I wouldn't be surprised if MS was making new ones and we all get Falcon chipsets in our great deals...

(PS: I made a slight error above, the older chipset was rated 203 watts)
