Steve made a big show of announcing that the iPhone 3G would launch in 70 countries by the end of the year at WWDC, and according to CFO Tim Cook during Apple's last financial call, 20 more countries will join the list on August 22 for a total of 45. With that date just a couple weeks away, things are starting to fall into place, although not all 20 are confirmed yet. Here's a quick breakdown of the 16 confirmed countries so far -- any bets on what the other four will be?
- Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Peru and Uruguay on Telefonica
- India on Bharti Airtel and Vodafone
- The Czech Republic on O2
- Estonia on EMT
- Poland on Orange and Era
- Romania on Orange
- Philippines on Globe Telecom
- Hungary on T-Mobile
- Singapore on Singtel
Globe Telecom is selling iPhone 3G in the Philippines for a whooping:
$500(2 Year Plan) - $1000(Pre-Paid) !
And there's no Unlimited Plan for the Data.
F'ing Rip-Offs.

$1 = P44
I believe South Africa will have it also on the 22nd Through Vodacom

Its really great that Apple iPhone is going to be worldwide.
One of them is Mauritius... Orange just announced they'd be launching it soon.

Also ;
Vodafone - Turkey
and in about 1 month later also Turkcell in turkey will start to sell iphone 3g
Here in Taiwan 3G is very prevalent. We even make half the damn iPhone here, chips, etc. And yet we aren't allowed to buy the thing or even use the iTunes store. Ridiculous and pathetic.
What about Latvia?
One of those not listed countries is Malta.
Count on me ;)
how do you know this? i really hope its true, vodafone not saying anything yet!
Still no Israel? What the fuck?! We have the highest cellphone/person ratio in the world!
It will be sold in Slovakia too. Will be offered by Orange and T-mobile
South Africa will receive the IPhone 3G in September. Carrier is to be Vodacom with majority shareholder Vodafone and Telkom. Pricing is a bit disappointing but on par with the US prices. R5000 - 6000 for 8GB and R7000-8000 for 16GB versions. Additional payment for high -end contracts in the area of +-R2400. Conversion: R to $ ZAR7.43 = US$1
It's so sad! Iceland is not even on the map... I mean IT'S NOT ON THE MAP!
Still Iceland is one of the most technological countries in the world. 98% of people are connected to the internet.
Sad!
I would say Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and UAE. they weren't mentioned in the keynote, however they are already added to iTunes , so if you are in one of theese countries you would be able to create an account, and you can only see the Apps Store!
I hope the overpricing things goes out and into the office of Stevey, what happened to Half the Price? Darn you Globe Telecom
How much is an iPhone in your country?
I've been waiting for a long time to get my hands on an iPhone that is not jail breaked or hacked to use the sims of the telcos here in the Phlippiines.
Now that it is coming in the Philippines I'm so so glad... BUT Wait.... at what price...!!!
There are rumors circulating that at launch... Globe Telecoms will ask for 46,000 Pesos for a 16GB version of my beloved iPhone 3G...
Converting that to dollars 46,000.00 PHP = 1,050.23 USD...
those are not rumors my friends.. they are official... and everyone else is not complaining with the price.. I think our corrupt telco 'Globe' is the only one doing this overpricing
The iphone here in the philippines is sold at around US$900
That's really an overpricing!
They will be selling it in the Dominican Republic on August 22nd, I'm basing that on the fact that Claro - a company under America Movil - is operating in the country, as well as Orange, and they both advertise the iphone on their webs.

Tim Cook is the Chief Operations Officer
Peter Oppenheimer is the CFO.
It's also launching in Greece via Vodafone. Unlocked for 499 euros (8GB) and 569 euros (16GB), with plans (but still unlocked) from 199 to 459 euros. Data plans range from 250MB to 1GB. Not too bad, actually.
I heard it is coming to Israel, also since the apple store is opening in a week or two rumour has it that when the store opens the iphone will be one of the highlights. i hope. . .
