Limited Edition Pokemon DS Lite shows up at GameStop

It's a couple of years late, but it looks like this Pokemon-themed DS Lite has finally made the trip over from Japan, as evidenced by this shot apparently snapped at a GameStop store. While there doesn't seem to be a game included with this particular bundle, you will get a matching carrying case, a 22-minute Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DVD, a Grovyle poster, and a Pokemon t-shirt that we're guessing anyone buying this will never want to take off. All for the usual price of $129.99.

I'm sorry, I don't really *follow* pokemon...

GOTTA CATCH EM ALL

I don't follow Desperate Housewives or Ugly Betty, but I wouldn't post it on a forum, as if someone gives a shit!

"Limited Edition"
Limited to what?
How many they can sell?
Cory @ Aug 9th 2008 9:59AM
No, limited. Have you ever seen a Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass DS in a store in a year? That's what I thought.
hank94jp @ Aug 9th 2008 10:50AM
Just because you don't *follow* pokemon doesn't mean they don't follow you. One of these days a Bulbasaur is going to kick your ass.

I remember, back when Pokemon games and cards were popular, one of my friends scribbled the name of a Pokemon onto its card and told a kid it was autographed. My friend got a few bucks that day.
Pochi @ Aug 8th 2008 11:26AM
Your friend sounds like a d-bag that needs a job.

I wish I live long enough to see this ridiculous Pokemon fever dead.

This Bites. This was released as a limited edition DS Lite during the release of Pearl and Diamond. I have one. An i believe that this will cheapen the rareness of mine.
ShadowKain @ Aug 8th 2008 11:53AM
Pokemon was always nice and bright with colors, now we have an edgy, angst filled emo DS with pokemon written all over it... HOORAY!!!
ahdok @ Aug 8th 2008 11:57AM
What's with this "The Pokemon Company" tagline?
Schnapple @ Aug 8th 2008 2:21PM
It's the name of the Nintendo subsidiary in charge of all things Pokemon

wait people still play this game?
Zephyr @ Aug 8th 2008 6:10PM
I think you got your information wrong Engadget.
These Pokemon themed DS came to the USA some years and was only sold in Pokemon Center NY.
Seems like this is the second batch or something.
Cheers.
x20mar @ Aug 8th 2008 6:40PM
The fact the you know that is worrying....
Zephyr @ Aug 8th 2008 10:16PM
Lol. I collect limited edition items.

Wondering if this "Limited Edition" is a precursor to the DS Lite becoming obsolete in a couple months when Nintendo rolls-out a new DS with increased capabilities. Like WPA2 security, bigger screens with even higher resolution, and a built-in browser that's actually decent.
I know that's asking too much, but it would be nice.

Well I received this today from Gamestop.com. Its a really nice sleek black Nintendo DS system with nice Pokemon art etched into the cover. The FREE limited edition t shirts from Gamestop were not in the box and I was quite disappointed and e-mailed them and hope they send it along. Also disappointed that it did not come with a Pokemon game. The sleek black paint job shows every fingerprint, other than that its cool to have Limited Editions. Meanwhile its on the charger and I am dying waiting to play with it.
