Elephantine BlackBerry Bold promo kit arrives for Rogers
We understand the need to catch eyes these days, and while Rogers will certainly not be the first nor last to promote a new piece of kit with an obscenely large version of said kit, this one just takes brobdingnagian marketing to a new plateau. The absolutely gigantic Rogers Bold launch kit includes a plethora of Bold flyers, informational pamphlets and all sorts of other goodies that'll be handed out to prospective buyers shortly. The real question is: who gets to take this thing home once the buzz dies down?

+1 for the correct use of brobdingnagian
Shift + F7?
This is the anti-zoolander phone.
It's going to give that huge Nokia they used on "Trigger Happy TV" a run for its money.
For those who are going waaaat? Trigger what??? What did he say??

Dude! I totally want one of these! I woudl wear it on my belt, big, proud and loud! Heh...

Belt? You'd need to wear this thing like a backpack :) But just imagine how cool this thing be for a back massage, just set phone to vibrate...
Typing would be like whack-a-mole
I already have something big, proud and loud near my belt.
I would get this phone and tell the ladies I'm undercompensating
Looks like it should be able to weigh you.
I think it would be totally badass for people to see me on the street talking into a ginormous blackberry.
CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW!?!?!?!?
Cuz I'm the JUGGERNAUT, BITCH!
finally! a blackberry with a keypad i can actually use :3
They also have the huge iphone 3g version in some of their store.
They do. I'm surprised the giant Bold got attention but the giant iPhone didn't, as much as Engadget loves the iPhone. (And I love mine too dammit!)
But, I wonder if this giant bold is more than the giant iPhone was. The giant iPhone is just an LCD screen hooked up to something like a Mac Mini (not certain).
Actually, looking closer at the pics in the read link, the giant Bold is just cardboard.

FULL qwetry keaboard takes on a new meaning
yep, it means your qwerty keyboard is broken
I do believe I saw this phone in Pee-Wee's Big Adventure.
I always knew Zack Morris was still cool!
Finally, a phone proportional to Rogers' pricing!
I would take this into the movies and pretend like im talking on it, and keep says things like "I cant hear you, im in the movies!"
yeah, so would trigger happy TV
HELLO! YEAH, I'M IN THE CINEMA
Yao Ming's Blackberry.
wow, it's close to being the same size as the actual Bold... :/
HAHAHA, I can only imagine the radiation danger of holding this up to your ear.
That's just a really small man with a standard phone.
and a macro lens on my photoshopped D90
That will NOT fit in my pocket at ALL.
what happened to your MC Hammer pants?
You can borrow these.

Hey, its Shaqs phone
someone's compensating for something...
That phone will go well with my Randy's Donuts.
wow thats a big clit.
finally, a phone big enough to let people play dance revolution
Just doing something different these days is probably making a market already :-) so whats next? and by the way, what BIG has made it BIG in the market already? So many possibilities. After minimizing the size of our gadgets, here comes a new approach to make some BIG(?) money. awesome!!!
yo mama is so fat, her fingers are still too big for this phone
This is nothing new. I'm not sure about other carriers, but Blackberry has been sending oversized cardboard Blackberries to Rogers for years. The oversized Blackberries were boxes that contained marketing and promo material like pamphlets, pens, paperweights, etc. I believe the first model they did this with was the gray 7100 (http://www.widgetsandgadgets.com/images/blackberry-7100-02.jpg)
If any readers work in retail wireless, hit up your Blackberry rep for some merch. They send GREAT stuff. I once asked my rep, who was based in Toronto, if he could send me some swag for a golf tournament my Rogers dealership was hosting. He sent me a bag with about 500 very nice pens, a box with about 100 sunglasses holders, a carton of golfballs, a few windbreakers, and nicest of all, some beautiful golf towels. All Blackberry branded.
Watching pron on your phone will never be the same.
So this is the 'soviet russia' model they've been talking about...
