Logitech's V550 Nano Clip-and-Go Mouse with 18 months of go at a clip
Today Logitech is unveiling its V550 Nano cordless laser mouse. This $60 mouse packs a few tricks including that itty bitty 2.4GHz USB nano receiver, 18-month life off 2x AA batteries, and "Clip-and-Go Dock" which affixes to your laptop. the 3.91 x 2.28 x 1.34-inch V550 also features Logitech's superb hyperfast scrolling. Expect it to ship sometime later this month in the US and Europe.

Um, so who wants to be the first to crack their screen with this mouse?
Dumbest idea I've ever seen. I wonder what kind of disclaimer Logitech has with the dock...
*yawn*
try again logitech, where are my bluetooth MX/VX revolution stuff?
I have their vx nano. The mouse is really nice, but their tiny receiver is wonderful - you never have to worry about taking it out at all.
Glad someone else noticed the floppy drive, too. I scratched my head at that.
I've got a logitech mouse with a nano receiver and LOVE IT. I don't have one of these, but I sure to like the mini receiver. I broke a couple mice receivers on a lappy before, and it's nice just to shove this one in the back of the laptop and forget it is there.
Well, yes, but it's even nicer to have built-in BT and use a BT mouse. (Or, if you don't have BT, you can get BT dongles that size too. They're great for internal hacking, too; maybe you can add one inside your laptop and really forget it's there.)
Standards FTW, but I guess Logitech didn't get the memo on that.
Just to piss all of you logitech fans off (I'm a logitech fan, too, but I'm also dirt poor) I've been using the Microsoft Wireless laptop Mouse 3000 or whatever for more than two years, and I find it to be the perfect shape, and it lasts well over 10 months to a year on ONE AA battery. Suck it, logitech.
So?
Don't Logitech make the Microsoft hardware?
I've been off Logitech for a long time.
Elecom make much better devices.

this nano mouse is already available in NL for 50 euros since last monday.
hmm.. still wonder how do it stick to your notebook like that
The main problem is, there goes one of your maybe two USB ports. Uh-uh, I'll take a BT mouse, or even better, the touchpad on my Apples. Ports are for things you don't need all the time.
There's a reason why you can't find good, high-end Bluetooth gaming mice. There simply isn't enough bandwidth with Bluetooth to give you the DPI that demanding people want. The best BT mouse in the world will get its ass politely handed to it by a $5 optical mouse, and probably even by a 99 cent ball mouse. BT 2.0 might change that, but I wouldn't hold my breath for manufacturers to produce a mouse for it, when you can make a much better mouse with a minuscule receiver and sell it for less $.
I've had the VX Nano for nearly a year now, and love everything about it except the software that comes with it, but it works just fine without it.
Why can't Logitech make a full size mouse with a tiny Nano receiver?
Small mouse sucks... small receiver good. I need back/forward buttons!
I never understood laptop mice... if your laptop bag can't hold a full size mouse.. maybe you need a bigger bag. Laptop mice aren't that much smaller anyway.
