XBMC 'Atlantis' landing in around two months
No sooner did we ask the audience which PVR application was best than the XBMC team reveals the next major installment of XBMC Media Center. A post over at the official website informs us that Team-XBMC "has hit a feature freeze in anticipation of an upcoming stable release of XBMC, codenamed Atlantis." The software is set to be released for Windows, Linux, Mac and Xbox simultaneously in around two months, and the crew is asking for your help in discovering bugs early in order to get a stable release out the door in short order. So, you planning to pitch in?[Thanks, Michael]

what if we have been helping for the last year? I am excited for a stable release of this. I have been trying to get some friends to use it but they won't unless it is a "stable" release.
WHEN was the last official release anyway?
Is this gong to be a HD XBMC ???
What do you mean?
Nothing XBMC does will make the classic X-Box handle 720p x264 vids smoothly, but XBMC can certainly output HD...
Yes, XBMC supports HD on non-Xbox platforms i.e. Linux, Windows and Mac OS X. If you have a fast enough CPU and a decent graphics card, you can play most of your 1080p content in XBMC.
I absolutely love xbmc. It's come a huge way since 2.0, it's definitely time for a unified 3.0 release.
I've been using the betas for XBMC for MAC OS X for months now.. Its absolutely amazing, and with some fine tuning and skinning, it works to perfection, and looks really really elegant...
The best media centre app i've used so far, and the minor bugs it has aren't even noticeable, and never hinder the movie viewing experience...
By the way though, OSXBMC has now been renamed to PLEX....
Looks like the link is dead. Still, it can be read from:

XBMC for Mac OS X is now supported on Tiger and Leopard:
