I think they missed a trick with the usb port. If it could be used to access the hard drive, that would be awesome. Do away with having caddies and power supplies.

Exactly what I was thinking. Make the drive available to connect via USB and it's a slam dunk!
Except that the USB port likely lacks the power to drive the device. Although wth SSD maybe that's not an issue.
Ian, Dude, have you seen USB Powered Hard Drives lately? They're everywhere...
And unless you are still reading that Toms Hardware guide to SSD Power Usage, you'll see they use less power than standard USB powered hard drives...
