We've seen one
pico projector after another emerge, but we're getting pretty antsy as we wait for one to ship en masse to North America. Call it a hunch, but we highly doubt Fuchitek's PEP01 will be the first to fly stateside. The handheld beamer measures in at just 11.5- x 5- x 2.2-centimeters and features a 640 x 480 native resolution, 80:1 contrast ratio, support for NTSC / PAL, composite input and a battery life of around 40 minutes. Per usual, there's no indication of when Fuchitek plans on releasing it (let alone a price), so we suppose we'll spend yet another night holding the
PLC-XL50 up with our hands and pretending that everything's kosher.

Can someone please provide the phonetic pronunciation of this company? It can't really be fucky-teck, can it? Then again my friend did one of those year-long programs in Thailand to teach english as a second language and her mentor while there had a last name of Tittiporn...so I guess anything's possible. Yikes.
I had a professor once, name of Dr. Fuchs. She explained that her name was pronounced Dr. fYOUks. Somehow I doubt that's how Fuchitek is pronounced.
Almost nobody else uses the Germanic 'ch' except english. This 'chi' almost certainly sounds like the "chee" in "cheese".
That being said, fuchi commonly means "ignorance" in Japanese (and can also mean "abyss"). The company is from Taiwan, and I don't know the ideograms for their company name (nowhere on their website), but the name is either ironic or poorly chosen for international business. Take your pick.
Actually rlb, I read it with a schwa sound - sort of a suggestion on how to get better IT support -> fuch-uh-tech.

At 4.5" x 2" x .9" its not much of a pocket projector, but as they say not all pocket projectors are created equal.
Oh, the delicious mischief you could have with this thing.
this would be perfect at the office for when that embarrassing Xmas party comes up where Alex was face down next to the toilet... hey, there he is on the wall.
also.. if you're shy and need to find a way to talk to the hot girl reading a book on the bench, make up a 5 minute dating video where you toss out generic pickup lines and project it on the trash can nearby for an effortless way into her pants.
really, you would have enough time to make a video before she left?
