USB Heated Shawl: great for the geriatric, cold-natured sets
USB blankets are old hat (for better or worse), but the USB Heated Shawl takes an aged concept and makes it relevant again with the addition of a single clip. Clearly designed for elderly folks who aren't kept warm enough by the bottoms of their laptops and for the billions of cubical dwellers who freeze in silence each and every day, this $28.95 device is a godsend. Just plug it in, wrap it around and enjoy the warmth. Oh, and ignore the haters.

"great for the geriatric, cold-natured sets"
Or, great for chicks with round, squeezable tit-ties.
I guess that shawl's doing it's job. It doesn't look cold in that office anymore...

A six?? Are you kidding me? She's smuggling a couple of midgets under there.
They have got to be a C, maybe D at the most.

@jolson247
No doubt, why must technology rob us of the ever useful and pleasing to the eye office thermometer?

Quality not quantity.
MadMike @ Aug 20th 2008 10:36AM
Dude, it's NEVER too early for boobies!

Heaters are among the most power consuming electric appliances you can buy. I'd really like to know how they manage to keep a shawl warm through a USB port.
Josh Warner @ Aug 20th 2008 8:29AM
Thanks for making the point I was going to make.
Quick answer: the heat dissipated is directly related to the power draw of a device. USB runs at 5 Volts, and a high-power multiple-device load is supposed to be in the realm of 500 mA (this is for an entire bus, not for each device, but represents are pretI ty solid top end). This is 2.5 Watts. Now, 2.5 Watts will _eventually_ warm you up, but this is definitely not a space heater or a toaster.
So, basically, it's a pointless waste.

I'm shocked you guys came to this conclusion. This TRULY sounded like such a worthwhile and legitimate product.
Hello @ Aug 20th 2008 8:35AM
Welcome home nerdy. Your're safe now.
Jeebus @ Aug 20th 2008 11:48AM
No they're not. Coolers are 3 times less efficient per degree.
Bellzebub @ Aug 20th 2008 8:43AM
I realise that this makes me sound like a pervert, but did anyone else notice the caption under the photo on the actual website? "make it BIGGER". I thought she was amply endowed as it was.
Bratan @ Aug 20th 2008 1:58PM
Good one Bellzebub :) I pressed and I pressed, but the didn't get any bigger tho :(
HaHa @ Aug 20th 2008 8:51AM

What is it with you guys? Women aren't objects, so stop just concentrating on her ta ta's and concentrate on who she is. She has feelings and emotions. Sure women are emotional creatures and they're only good for cleaning, cooking, and poppin out babies; stuff that doesnt overload their pretty little minds. She is a person. But still...
that is a nice set of twins.

Office Freezer @ Aug 20th 2008 9:59AM
We sure could use these being standard issue here at my office where it's regularly 64-66 degrees at my desk....
No amount of laptop heat could warm this place...

She's not a cubical dweller unless her body is shaped like a big cardbox box. On the other hand, she might be living in a cubicle.
Starnerf @ Aug 20th 2008 11:09AM
Or you could try, you know, wearing a sweater. I hear they do pretty much the same thing but don't need to be plugged in.
mad bill @ Aug 20th 2008 11:56AM
