Nintendo adds a little color to the Wii, just when we thought it didn't care
Remember a million years ago when Nintendo first introduced the "Revolution," later to be known as the Wii? It wasn't white, and it seemed multiple colors were a shoe-in for the shiny plastic console. Since then, Nintendo has sung a very white, supply-limited song with the Wii, and we're ready for some change. This is not that change. But at least Nintendo is acknowledging that, indeed, other colors do exist, and look just smashing when waved around in the air, in the form of fancy new pastel-colored Wiimote straps for Japan. They cost a few bucks each, or you can get the whole pack for $10. No word if they'll be heading Stateside.

"what'd you read about in the news today, honey?"
"colored straps".
no kidding. this is sad. On a Saturday or Sunday, ok, but on a Thursday?
wait people actually use the wrist straps?

I have never been so excited that the Wiimote has actually flown out of my hand.
That said, I use the wrist strap, but not the damned glove. However, I haven't actually played any games on my Wii that required the Wiimote in awhile...
Yay?
Thanks guys, this totally makes up for E3!!!!
(does anyone actually use the wrist straps when sober?)
Good to know Nintendo is on the ball. Save the games for the next generation console and give us some pink nun-chuks or something.
strap on like it's #1 wii in colors!
From the original "Nintendo Revolution: What we know" blog post:
"* All-Access Gaming, which refers to backwards compatibility to 20 years of Nintendo games, NES, SNES, N64. We don't know particulars of how it'll be accessed or what, ******if any******, the cost structure might be.
Amazing comment in retrospect... could anyone have imagined only three years ago the incredible amount of nickel and diming that would come with downloadable content?
You know, if you guys really want colors and don't wanna wait until they eventually do come out, you could always get some skins from decal girl
I have an all blue one for me

The material they use is really high quality and lasts pretty all. They have skins for other things too. Be warned though, the bigger the skin, the bigger the pain it is to put it on. lol
did someone say spam?
My bland ones were free. Why should I buy these?
I think once sales take a big dip (yea... I know), Nintendo will unleash the multi-colored Wiis
let's not get carried away now, nintendo
It would be dumb for Nintendo to release the Wii in different colors now. As soon as Wii sales get lower, it will come in different colors. That will cause a spike in their sales. I know this has little to do with the post, but oh well. How much can you say about colored wiimote straps anyway?
Coloured version of the 3rd generatin straps .
I just stick to the 1st generation strap i got here .
If it wasn't for some idiots Nintendo would not need to wast money on strap replacment & jackets
When i get my MotionPlus i most probably be using the jacket it come with once then throwing it away meanwhile i be in love with my little motionplus
Is anyone else disturbed by the fact that they're selling the white strap along with the bright hideous colors!? Special
No I'm more concerned by the fact that people who DO have the cash and fashion sense to get matching colored straps for their game controllers now have to buy multiple of these packages to get, say, three blue straps. Nice marketing Nindtendo.
Useless garbage like most Wii software.
Just came back from a Ninty meeting. I overheard Iwata praising some guy for bringing up the ideal of colored styluses for the DS. Said something about retaining the DS as a money printing machine.
