GPS, TomTom PRO 4000 and 8000 nav units plot a direct route to your expense account
TomTom's new "PRO" series of GPS units, the PRO 4000 and PRO 8000 aren't that different than your regular old amateur nav slab, only these have the PRO moniker, which means they're supposed to be taken oh-so-much more seriously by your corporate masters when expensed. The $330 and $460 units include perks for the "mobile workforce" like a premium ruggedized sleeve, dedicated phone support line, two year warranty and a PIN lock. Both units sport 4.3-inch widescreen displays, with the 8000 (pictured) adding on IQ Routes, Advanced Lane Guidance, Voice Address Input and Bluetooth. Neither one will do your crappy job for you.[Via NaviGadget]

wow 30 on broadway what was it..3 am??
All the lights change at the same time... you can hit 30mph any time of day as long as you aren't scared of hitting tourists who don't know how to properly cross the street.
Apparently they already know that I have a crappy job and how to best navigate to it.
My ideal GPS will talk to other GPS'es and tell those drivers to move to the slow lane so that I can pass them..... :-)
Apparently those GPS'es already know that I have a crappy job. Wow!
My ideal GPS will talk to other GPS'es and notify "the slow drivers" to move over....
Voting myself down for double post.
{crud}
do these wonderful devices do commercial routes? damn new york city and its parkways
Is there a button in the menu that has pitty on my poor soul that will give me directions to a non crappy job? Perhaps suntan lotion applier to the hawaiian tropic models or something equally non crappy?
GPS is to NYC
as
Accident is to YOU
crap crap crap! Can one company make a GPS unit with a screen larger than a paltry 4.3 inches? Let's face it, nearly all makes and models are fairly even. Let's step it up and build screens 6 inches or larger! Yeah, and why not sell them at reasonable prices?
No kidding! It must be a North American thing though with safety and all because there are GPSs with much larger screens.
I was in Korea earlier this summer and all the cabs sported wild 7 inch GPS display that double as over the air digital TVs. Now don't get me started on what a cab driver is doing watching TV while driving, but I think it's meant for the passengers =P. One cab had a monstrous 10 inch unit that had full 3D buildings of key areas in Seoul.
