Albatron intros Tee PC mini tablet

Albatron apparently had a prototype of one of these on display at Computex earlier this year, but it looks like it's now nailed everything down and taken the wraps off the final version of its very first so-called "mini tablet PC," which is now officially dubbed the Tee PC (or Tee PC Rocker, according to the box). This one bucks the current trends with a 400MHz ARM926 processor, which leads off the spec list that also includes a 7-inch 800 x 480 touchscreen, a whopping 128MB of RAM, 128MB of NAND Flash, an SD card slot for expansion, built-in WiFi and Bluetooth and, last but not least, Windows CE 6.0 for an OS. Unfortunately, while it's apparently "ready for market," there's no word on a price or release date just yet. Then again, unless it really undercuts some of the other tablets and netbooks on the market, we can't quite see this one shaking things up too much.

What is that thing on the bottom?
Speakers, battery?, handle, etc....
The dock. Read link is your friend.
OOOOH! I feel like an idiot now! Its a CRADLE! Sorry!
The start bar?
It is 350 grams, I would say that undercuts most tablets/netbooks.
It is 400MHz ARM processor running Windows CE. I'd say that pretty much makes it a PDA.
yeah very interesting form factor but that screen shot looks suspciously higher res than 800 x 480 ..
Nice looking device but it disappoints with ARM and WinCE.
I don't know, I kind of like Windows CE. Now of it could run WM5 programs in a QVGA window, I am sold!
Ive always gotten a chuckle out of Windows CE being called WinCE
make it under 100. or else i'll pay more and get a real Netbook. i.e Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee........
the good thing about this might be jsut the battery life ;-) 3 days for one charge?
wowww exelente
me gusta
saludos desde www.noticiaschimbote.com , cordiales eh
Make it under 299 and I'm sold!
Are you kidding? This cannot be more than $100!
I like this, 10 of these weight less than my current "light" 15,4" laptop.
Bull. CRAP. If this thing was $289 you would actually spend your money on one?
There's one born every minute, I guess...
"Seagull sickle... Pelican bon-bon... ALBATROSS."
"I will have two icecreams, please."
"I don't have any icecreams, I've just got this albatross. ALBATROSS."
" What flavour is it?"
"...Well it's an albatross. Isn't it? It's not any bloody flavour. ALBATROSS. "
D'you get wafers with it?
Fail
No, succeed! phanbouy gets +1!
what are you on?
what the hell hat monty python to do with that?
So it's a PDA with an outdated OS?
If I can install Linux I'll be happy.
Windows CE just doesn't cut it.
If the price is good, this could seriously compete with the N810.
If the price is good this could seriously compete with the pre-HP, Compaq line of ipaq's.
is this supposed to be a really bad knockoff of the Eee PC.
There logo is "Harness the power of the Albatross" ....
So it's big, bulky, slow and has no flavor?
400mhz ARM? WTH? Couldn't they have stuck a 624 in there?
Its amazing how the xperia x1 can stuff the same amount of pixels into a 3inch screen
Lets be honest everyone, this thing and its story is a waste of online bandwidth
tee pc , eee pc , tee pc eee pc ...hmm...
What about a teepee PC? You know, one that the Native Americans use.
Or the TP PC, the one we all use at the toilet.
Or Tee Hee PC.
The Funny PC
or the shi tee PC?
iPhone is more powerful than that rite?
yes, but shut up anyway.
Yes. The Arm in the iPhone / Touch is 620 MHz. A lot more memory too. This thing better cost like $75.
Why does something in your way of writting it tells me that you don't understand that, on these devices, the RAM and the storage are actually THE SAME memory?
That's why "both" are 128MB... And same goes for that eee $100 knockoff that had 64MB on "both"...
For some reason I have the urge to grab it by the dock and swing it at something.
This looks like a nice piece of tech, if they get the price right. I would buy this if it were in the $200-$300 range, unfortunately it will probably come out priced around $400-$500 where I could get a nice Eee/Pocket-PC/Whatever.
IMO this will wind up going down as another piece of tech that should have come out a year (or two) ago for the price-point, but someone might think the touch screen is worth the extra $$.
Your expressed desire to grab your dock and swing it...was about as necessary to share as the original post.
i say we start calling these things dataslates
If this were under $150, I'd pick this up for use as a web browser and ebook reader to replace my Palm TX (which I only really keep to use as an ereader and to browse the web when I'm on the can). The OS is a huge turnoff, but the 7" screen would make reading less painful.
Teeheeheehee
Guys this is not a netbook and its not a desktop its a tablet pc for the on the go who are on a budget ,but i do agree nad flash for 128mb,,,wince and 7inch screen ,hmmmm its going to be very cheap,,,ib guess it could have some kmarket in ultra mobile work, etc, etc type of thing,BUT i think it would be unfair to compare it to netbook, laptops and desktops, compare it yest but not to any of the later,But one thing ido agree Change the dam name as that name is really asking for the comparisons....
hmm...whats next... peee pc?
I believe apple made pee pcs
Considering the price of those monochrome Kindles, I can't see this under even 2 bills. Pass.
I want one of these! I want a PDA with a larger screen than 4 inches. I have been using my Toshiba e405 for years and love it. Is there a PDA with a large screen other than this that is less than $1000? I don't need it to fit into my pocket because I carry a purse. I want an operating system that will wake up and remind me of my occasional appointment. I am a stay-at-home mom that likes to read emails while the children are at music lessons but the 3 to 4 inch screens on PDAs aren't easy to look at for hours on end. I need something that syncs easily with Outlook for my calendar and thousands of emails. I have a nice laptop but don't always have it with me when I have to wait on the children.
