Oh Look.
ANOTHER iPod/iPhone dock/clock thingumy!
YAWN!
what's the problem... this is for those fanboy out there.
Full of feature. but would be nicer if have a USB port for direct music playback from USB drive.
I wonder also with the alarm feature of this radio. let see... when woke up by alarm I'll just slam the snooze button and there's go my iphone...
Well considering the wife and I charge our iPhones nightly and wake up to an alarm clock, this would at least save two power plugs in the bedroom, plus we could replace the gawd-awful klaxon of our alarm clock with music. Preferably gawd-awful music that would make us get up.
me likes! me get!
why would you ever have an ipod nano and an iphone together.. ?!
surely the iphone can store all ur music needs at one time?
That's funny, I actually use an older nano for my on-the-go music player even though I have the iphone. It's nice because I use an iskin lanyard with it, makes the controls easy to reach while working, at the gym, on the plane, whatever. Easier than digging the iphone out of my pocket, and the iphone is too heavy to comfortably use around your neck. Not to mention the @#$@ first-gen iphone recessed headphone jack which would definitely break my headphone adapter if I used it while in a pocket.
Though I have zero need for any kind of ipod dock, so your question still stands...
Its for people that don't only think about themselves when they read an article. People with girlfriends, wives, etc.
I could debate whether having two iPods in this would be useful, but the main question is whether the sound quality is good or not. Only time will tell. (Pun not intended)
right. another junk from jwin. it costs $15 to built, but retails for $129? out of mind.
@ gareth
It would be for you and your wife/partner to charge in the same place...
She has the Nano and you the iphone.
Now you can listen to two songs at once!
This one is amazing. I have never seen a product which can handle both the iPod and iPhone simultaneously. Its looks too are great.

It's pretty simple even though people didn't get it before either - if you are married (or otherwise in sustained living-together relationship), and you and your spouse/SO have iPods, and especially if you and your spouse have different kinds of iPods, this would be a very nice feature to have. Of course I don't know if it is a piece of crap or not. I'm a bit wary of the "iLuv" brandname, but I have no experience with their products.
you're talking about SO's to a bunch of engadget readers that probably have never seen a girl naked let alone considered they may one day be in a live in relationship..
Now if it just made a little cup of espresso as the alarm function.....
A lot of people don't seem to get why this product is useful. There are people like myself who own an iPod and iPhone. There are very few products for my iPhone 3G. I like that I can dock and CHARGE my iPhone and iPod in this clock radio. And yes, there are many married couples that each have a iPhone. This clock radio will look good on the nightstand with two iPhones docked into it.
you know if I was to make a docking station I would make the ipod flush or hidden. What's the point of having the ipod sticking out of the unit...it look so damn tacky. Why can't anyone do that right....not that I even own an ipod.
I don't see why it so hard to understand, your iPhone is exactly that a phone. An ipod an mp3 player. I would never take my iPhone to the gym and exercise or if I'm on a long trip and kill my iPhone battery so that I can't use all the other none-iPod features. Get a fuckin clue! I don't know if your haters or just plain idiots.
The radio is hideous none the less, good concept for couples or multiple iPods owners. Or have you been fanboy hating so long you forgot what a woman looks like, or part of lifes goal is to find a partner, whether it be male or female.
how you say in English...?
...ah yes...
"Don't have cow, take a chill pill"
"baby"
If this doesn't have a nag screen on the 3G then I'm sold! The current docks available that worked for the iphone give nag screens on the 3G.
I want to mod you down for a sloppily-worded "Apple = teh ghey" comment, but it was actually pretty funny.
The lady and I fall asleep to white noise generated from my iPod Touch, and I usually set the alarm on there too. There are a handful of people out on the market like us where it would come in really handy. Also, we have two iPods... so the dual docking is rad too.
Nice that it charges two iPods at once. There are now MANY two or three iPod households. Will this charge two iPhones ? Is 3G compatibility confirmed?
What about the new sony dock ?

I want it purely because it has shielded speakers, meaning I can listen to my internet radio apps without bloody interference from the phone.
Why-o-why can't they have a setting on the iPhone that allows you to turn off the phone but leave the WiFi on?
"Why-o-why can't they have a setting on the iPhone that allows you to turn off the phone but leave the WiFi on?"
They do :-)
Put it in airplane mode. Then go into Wi-Fi settings and turn Wi-Fi back on.
All radios except Wi-Fi will be disabled.
