New iPod touch casually leaked in Best Buy weekly ad?
First comes smoke, then comes flames a-blazin'. Shortly after hearing that Apple was gearing up to unveil a new iPod nano (at the very least) on September 9th, in flies a curious Best Buy ad that could be evidence of a tweaked iPod touch. According to our tipster, the image in the ad and the image on Best Buy's website are ever-so-slightly different, and while we'd typically pass this off as the result of a fading ink cartridge, we've been expecting new touches for months now. Just a few days left until we figure out what's really going on here.
[Thanks, Samm]
Update: As a few folks pointed out, it seems the image is a touch on the ancient side. Still, we know new iPod touches are coming in our hearts -- we can just feel it.

I have a close friend who is working with apple care, and has told me that we should see a newer longer nano and a 64 gig ipod touch...Just lettin ya know!
Thanks. Nobody here would have ever guessed something like that.
Welcome to last month. Epic fail.
What a way to start the month...
well crap!
i hope there arent new ipod touches coming out soon! i just bought an 8GB model two days ago!! :(
At what store did you buy your iPod touch? Most stores have a 14-day return policy. Ask and see if you can exchange it for the newest generation.
i think its just an photoshopped iphone to appear as a ipod touch.
notice whenever you view a picture...the time near displays the way it does like in that picture...
Yep, definitely an advertisement color blooper. Excited as I am to know that Apple will soon be announcing a new gadget, this is not what I was expecting. Cmon Apple.. Bring it!
I'd say BB is going to differentiate the touch and iPhone as much as they can so consumers don't get the pricing mixed up in their adds.
BB will only use the "home" screen on the iPhone displays and other screens on the touch. It's makes sense in marketing ways anyway...
If you want see more pictures and videos about the new iPod generation follows this link:http://applediario.com/2008/08/26/asi-sera-el-nuevo-ipod/#more-1072 , new iPod looks really more refined.
No, its definatly a new touch, the bloke in the picture is holding one
Seems to have got a bit bigger too
I think its fake, I imagine they will drop the 8 Gig iPod touch.
It's not really new when you zoom in on the part number and it's MA623LL/B just like the current one on the online Apple store.
The 2nd generation iPod touch that was unveiled today has a chrome bezel, (just like in the picture) instead of the black metal bezel of the 1st gen iPod touch. I think Best Buy did in fact casually leak the picture of the 2nd gen iPod touch.
