Piicron: why choose, when you can have it all? Invest now!
It's hard to tell if those awesome consoles up above are artists renditions or very real pieces of gaming technology that will shake the industry at its core. So hard to tell. We won't humor Piicron enough to actually describe their ideas (okay, just one: Ubercron, a $500 console that can play "any game ever released to any console" with its 3.2GHz quad-core processor) but we do recommend clicking on over to the website, where you can easily squander an afternoon reading through all this insanity. To be honest, we're almost a little disappointed none of this is grounded in reality, or even vaguely aware of reality: at least Phantom was trying.

Are you talking about dildo's?
I get the feeling that that will be a very appropriate name

Think about that one for a minute.
Thats hilarious. The about us page looks like some drunk teens and their mom.
"Invest yourself!
It does not have to be much, $10 is enough, our projections indicate a return of 10 000 times invested capital by 2012, can you spare $10? Tell others about this opportunity, about what we are doing, tell your company!"
Um, I smell a class-action lawsuit... unless I can find some sort of "forward-looking statements" disclaimer.
So all I have to do is invest one dollar and I'll have 10k in 4 years. Suh-weet.
can't take a company website seriously when they use the number 4 for the word "for". nice try tho

He sent in a letter to "theinquirer.net" about Xbox not playing all dvds.

He was also writing an essay about gaming in Korea, I'd love to see that one!
Ah... one can only dream of a console like that.
And yet that's all it is, a dream.
Seriously never gonna happen, at least not this century. Unless they have a brainwashing machine.
I'm going to the bank tomorrow to invest all my money to this company. I'm gonna be rich someday and laugh at you guys bwuhahahaha!!!!!!! This is the future baby...........
See, how many posts, EVER, on Engadget that have mentioned "First" haven't been low ranked? Even when they were in jest? How could you possibly think that we would find it funny coming from you?
Aww, the post got deleted...
OK the one time that it would be apporiate nobody sais it...
OK I guess it is my turn!
Does it play Crysis?
OK you can all smack me now. I am sorry, but I could not resist.
This is the only time - and indeed is the last time - that is acceptable to be used.
Yea, I feel bad for saying it. (I usually hate those comments) But I was surprised that the one time it would actually make sense, Nobody did it!
I agree with Decoy...
It was appropriate. For once.
Should call it UNICRON......oooohhh!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unicron
does anyone else smell a lawsuit from nintendo, sega, sony, and microsoft on the way?
Everything's so... orange!
So in the spirit of lawsuits they could call it The Orange Box.
So um... is it Pie-cron, or Pee-cron??
lolololol
"Why should I invest NOW instead of later?
Because as soon as we have raised $13.37 million, investment will be closed. There is such a thing as too late."
the sad thing is that now that engadget posted this, I bet SOMEONE SOMEWHERE will invest.
If that "13.37" didn't give this thing away as a joke, I don't know what would...
You know, back in high school, right before the dreamcast came out I dreamt of building a gaming console using off tthe shelf PC componentry, since the Dreamcast using a PowerVR graphics chipset got me thinking. In retrospect it's pretty funny because I thought putting a 12x CD-ROM drive in there would be really cutting edge compared to the PSX's loading speeds.
Still kind of pissed that microsoft actually went and built an xbox like that, it even vaguely looked like my sketches of my fantasy console (mostly because my console was sketched rather big and rectangular to fit a CD-ROM drive and all the hardware, which is probably also why the original xbox was a massive rectangle).
Anyways, even my 17 year old self's fantasy console is more realistic than this pile of steaming vaporware. At least I didn't ever think it'd be able to run games for the other consoles, lol.
So they're selling a universal AC adapter
only thing I can think of that would be "fully backwards compatible" and not infringe on any copyrights.
The designs look distinctly Ferengi, as does the sales pitch. Personally I love my WIIPS360, with its nuclear power supply - I wish I hadn't forgotten it at home before my time machine broke down. The 21st century sucks.
lol never thought about emulating a 6 core 3.2ghz cpu on a 4 core 3.2ghz cpu.....
anybody ever tried to make an emulation software ( if they do it on the hard ware side i take it all back`)
will know that that is impossible!!!! at least i an ok frame rate ......
perhaps they make a ps3 slide show 4fpm ( frames per minute)
my pc has more power than what they claim my programming skills are quite ok ;-) and i don't see a possibility to emulate a xbox 360 in the very near future . if you want to run a game fluently through emulating a good scale would be : take 3 times the raw calculating power of a system than you can do it.(that does not fit if u do it hardware near )
by the way as far as i know their is a decent xbox360 emu software it runs on three power macs it is used to test games in their development status .
sooo unless u don't put a xbox 360 a ps3 a xbox a wii and perhaps even a ps2 and a dreamcast in an small plastic housing u can't emulate every game ( and even then u miss an system (which should be potent too) to emulate every other gaming hardware)
i'm out sorry for my bad english best wishes from germany
Under "4-Developers" on their homepage, they say that the benefits for developers are:
"Cookies. Lots of cookies. 7 unique flavors"
I think that should say it all.
yeah it's a hoax a very good hoax anybody tried to send them money perhaps you get an answer like this: lol u idiot
Investing in PIICRON is not like putting your money under your madras

They're on to me!
the investment strategy is really great: let's say a total of 100 million $ is invested so they have to return 1 000 000 000 000 $.
let's say you get 200$ of every sold console ( through software licence and so on a total amount of 200$ per unit as an average) you have to sell 5 000 000 000 units!!!!!! that is almost one for every person on this planet
Which is why they will make the one for the 3rd world.. DUH lol
$1's become 1 000's, 1 000's become millions & millions become billions, to put things into perspective.

LOL - best quote ever, to put things into perspective :)
