ELAC's MicroSUB 2010 BT: the most rumbling Rubik's Cube you ever did see
We've seen some pretty ingenious covers for earth-movers, but ELAC's Rubik's Cube-inspired MicroSUB 2010 BT is really something special. Sure to please both puzzle and bass lovers alike, the dual-driver subbie features built-in Bluetooth (A2DP), 100-watts of power and a pair of speaker outputs for satellites. For those looking for less vivid versions, it is available in black or white, but really, where's the fun in that?

I thought it was some kind of electric pencil sharpener at first. :]

Patriks7 @ Sep 3rd 2008 11:58AM
dude this is Engadget
they wont report Google Chrome until its out on Mac and then they will present it as if it hasnt existed anywhere before
but it will be hard for them, so that they dont conflict with Safari, Jobs wouldnt be happy about that now would he?

I looked into it. No love. iCab is a lot better and I doubt it has been featured.

its a subwoofer... what else has 100W of power and can shake the earth so to speak?
subwoofter @ Sep 4th 2008 1:18AM
100 watts isn't going to be shaking much of anything.... seems underpowered at best.
Tom Robertson @ Sep 3rd 2008 11:48AM
I would rather it be an electronic pencil sharpener :P

Cool product but frustrating post. Nothing about size or price. This is one of those press releases that gets tossed around all the cool gadget sites (BoingBoing, Unpluggd, probably Giz but I haven't looked yet) but no one cares to do any research. A visit to Elac's site doesn't reveal anything either. All I could find was the same picture of the device, leading me to guess that it's vaguely similar in size to a similar product. Elac makes some pretty high-end shit so god only knows what it'll cost.

Here's some information regarding the subwoofer in it's 2.1 configuration package - no details on price, but it does have details on size and also what I'm assuming is a German release date.
Cheers

What about a Lemarchand Puzzle Box configuration from Hellraiser?
Farris @ Sep 3rd 2008 2:03PM
I agree with what's been said a few times already... if I hadn't hovered over the links in the article, I wouldn't have known this was a speaker (I'm at work, so I don't want to go to the actual website)...
I honestly thought it was a custom painted outdoor HVAC system... holy crap, why haven't I done that yet???
master_sword @ Sep 3rd 2008 7:36PM
can i still solve it?
Nelson @ Sep 4th 2008 7:43PM
I promise you I'm gonna throw this thing across the room if I don't solve it in an hour.... forget it!, (and it flies across the room to hit my new LCD tv)
