Cables To Go intros Trulink Wireless USB to VGA kit
Cables To Go, your one-stop-shop for all things cabled related appears to be aiming squarely for a sector of the market that's decidedly un-cableish... wireless transmission of VGA signals. The company is slated to demonstrate it's new "TruLink Wireless USB to VGA Adapter Kit" at this year's CEDIA, which utilizes UWB technology to toss your UXGA or WSXGA signals up to 30 feet away, and stream 720p over the same distances. Sure, it sounds awfully similar to IOGEAR's... wait for it... "Wireless USB to VGA kit," but hey, the more the merrier, right? No word on price or release date, but we should know more soon.

If this is under $75, sign me up for one.

Oh and I wouldn't advise playing crysis with this, but doom should probably be ok

problem is, your HD-whatever won't be used. it uses the GPU in the WUSB/VGA-dongle and sends all the data over wireless USB link...so the performance won't be better than any today's USB VGA devices...
this is not another wireless VGA extender, this is a true graphics card. think industrial applications, airport displays and such...no need to have a PC bolted on the back of each LCD, one should do fine for whole departure board with 4-6 displays ;)

Interesting. Does that mean I can have several displays around my house if I wanted, and hook them all up with this?
Harry Wagstaff @ Sep 4th 2008 8:49PM
Presumably it does, as long as your house is less than 30 feet across and has no internal walls or reflective surfaces.

hey Im down - maybe it will make the $200 and some IOGEAR kit drop in price some with the competition. looks good though, even though you arent really losing too many cords in the scheme of things, just able to make a more concentrated pile of them.

"toss your UXGA or WSXGA signals"
Whatever that means. Good thing you guys saved four characters or so by using this crap instead of just stating the resolutions.

nothing beats a trusty cable haha little to no signal loss and less hassle in the long run.
thethirdmoose @ Sep 6th 2008 8:22PM
Except for the whole, running a cable 30 feet without any loss thing, right?
William @ Sep 5th 2008 10:23AM
Except for amplitude is the distance from the rest position to crest. You are showing 2 amplitude. Other than that it does sounds interesting.
