Whether it's true or not, I gotta laugh. Seeing how the last Halo was just, um... shinier... and not really "impressive" graphically, this is just sad.
Games running with half resolution or half framerate is just unacceptable for a console that's supposed to be so powerful. Well, actually it IS plenty powerful, but so was the Sega Saturn... just no one could figure out how the hell to program on the damn thing efficiently except for Sega themselves. However, I'm sure companies like SquareEnix and other titans will figure out how to harness the 360's power more effectively than Epic, this is just one developer's opinion.
Games at a console's end of days usually look the best, just check out how good Ghostbusters is looking on PS2. Later games on the original Xbox I felt were pretty strong graphically as well. Heck, even Megaman 6 on the NES looked pretty darn good in comparison to older titles (don't believe me? Go compare it first!), which came out really late in the system's life.
BTW, notice I didn't mention PS3 once in this post even though I'm a very happy PS3 owner? I'm not here to start fights.
A multiplatform game would be the only meter for such a comparison.
Halo 3 was a worthless turd from a shitty company that made it big for having 2 decent games. Marathon and Halo: Combat Evolved. Halo 2 and 3 were nothing in comparison, and the graphics of Halo 3 were not only a letdown, but a downright lie.
Anyway, what's the average framerate for those PS3 exclusives? Care to share? From what I've seen on multiple searches is that most of the PS3's exclusives run at 30 FPS, many of them with drops lower than that. GTA IV for both consoles run at very similar frame rates, and the 360 has a higher resolution, and most other games exclusive to the 360 also run at 60 FPS, and GoW2 is expected to, as well, as it runs on the same or a newer version of the UE3 as UT3.
Also, if you haven't noticed, the difference between native 720p and native 1080p is pretty much not noticable when comparing the two at the same output resolution.
zuess is an ass. halo 3 is an indisputably good game. IMO best game ever because of the multiplayer. you are entitled to your own opinion (you can say you don't like it) but you can't just say the game was bad.
also (correct me if im wrong) but halo 3 is the first game with full playback ability. where you can move anywhere in the map and watch everything happen again. so if i remember right thats why the developers had to tone down the res so they could add that in. and IMHO that has made it one of the koolest things in the game to be able to share clips and pictures of funny ass things that happen in halo. also i think its pretty innovative to include that, sense (again correct me if im wrong) its the only game out there (at lest on consoles) that has full playback ability.
The Triumph proved to be one of the better looking and performing pre-paid handsets we'd had the pleasure of holding in our sweaty mitts, but we had one major hangup: the name.

Yeah, kinda' like GTA IV running at 630-40p on the PS3 so it can have a better framerate than the 360?

Using a multiplatform game to cover the failings of the system, typical.
Many popular "exclusive" 360 titles run at sub 720p
Halo 3 - 1152x640
Ninja gaiden 2 - 1120x585
Versus pretty much all of the PS3 exclusive which run at 720p and above except for the notably stinker HAZE.
And a surprising amount of PSN games are 1080p vs the marjority of XBLA titles which are 720.
A multiplatform game would be the only meter for such a comparison.

I think MGS 4 and Ratchet & Clank run at 60FPS. Almost all PSN games run at 60FPS.
