La Machine's spider-mech traipses through the streets of Liverpool
France: it's like Canada, only with less hockey, and more boring mechanical spiders. Those hosers have foisted this amazingly-styled and yet utterly dull "La Princesse" piece of street theater on the innocent, unsuspecting people of Liverpool, and the travesty is set to continue for another couple of days. Hit up the read link for BBC's video of the mundanity.

Tachikoma > "La Princesse"
I don't exactly know how this got on to Engadget (it's essentially street theatre), but it is damn entertaining to watch. It may not be technologically impressive, but it attracts the crowds, and that's what Capital of Culture is all about. Well, that Paul McCartney.
France is not like Canada . its completely different actually you sound like an ignorant prick. I have to admit though ,the spider isn't really that impressive.
Wonderful. A street theatre performance reviewed by a gadget blogger who wasn't even there. "Utterly dull" he says, from his experience of the event. How enlightening. Art opinions are like anuses, everyone has got one but you don't necessarily have to flaunt it. So, here is an advice to Paul Miller since we're all free to write what we thing no matter how informed we are, stick to USB implements when it comes to voicing an opinion.
You can see a Machine's spider-mech video on http://www.ilogan.info/?p=873
Something like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_IkUysQASQ ?!? :D
Hmm your french readers thanks you for this warm love...
I though that site was directed a little further yan your island borders... :_(
I must say though, having spent almost every day of the last 4 years of my life walking through where the spider hung last night, and having not heard about this, it was quite an amazing if not, at first, shocking sight to see a bloody huge spider hanging from a building i'm used to seeing covered in nothing but scaffolding. I guess you just have to be there, but honestly, it was impressive to see, and that video linked just doesnt do the size and beauty of it any justice at all. Now in response to the negative comments, I will say that firstly I'm not surprised, considering where it's coming from. Now I am not from Liverpool, I'm from the other side of that there river, the Wirral, and we aren't exactly best buddies with liverpudlians, but they have my utmost respect for what they have done this year in support of their capital of culture status, some truly memorable events that will last my lifetime as a reminder of my time at university there. I think this gives them something to be proud of with these spectacular events that I have only ever seen bettered in our capital city of London.
Sure, this is not the typical gadget that you guys are used to, but atleast the people of Liverpool, and of the UK have a sense of culture. If you're not going to take it for what it's intended to be, don't show it here on engadget, because it's not a gadget, and since you clearly lack the nouse to see what it's purpose really is, stick to what you do best.
P.S. a scoucer is the name given to people from Liverpool, in case anyone wonders about above comments.
