Update: As noted in the comments, that 2G-style coloring is matched with an old-style squeeze-connector iPod cable, making this leak, at least, highly suspect.
not a photoshop job its an ebay job, its a cheap mp4 rip off, well done
that looks like a 2g nano with the
scroll pad moved down to make room for a bigger screen
if its the exact same size of the 2g nano[or close] then ill buy it to replace my 2g nano
if its too much longer or wider im just gonna stick with my current nano
that pic could be faked tho...as well as all of the other ones
The reflcition of the Apple log on the right is wrong! The reflection is at the same level as the one on the left brochure, when in reality it's much lower!
Also, the iPod "new curvy screen" doesn't look curvy at all in this pic, then again no light reflections on it/

i can tell from some of the pixels, and from seeing quite a few shops in my time.
This looks exactly like one of those cheap knock-offs I've seen in every single Chinese port I've ever called... Apparently, it is an MP4-player... So this doesn't even have to be a photoshop... Just a guy who went to China and picked up something that vaguely resembles an Ipod...

The screen looks kinda funny, it has something that tells you it was photoshopped, maybe the small "points" on every side, like when you rotate a picture and you dont get the straight line on the sides .. ?

eh, what's with the terminology?
In my books they only refer to mobile network generations, like;
1G = analog
2G = GSM
3G = HSDPA/GPRS
4G = WiMax

G for Apple means :Apple Generation, also G for Apple means Mobile Generation.
Looks pretty fake to me. Actually looks like someone took 3G nano spread out and doctored this image. Based on the the colors on the previous 4G nano from earlier in the day (where the lighting doesn't look doctored) this one's coloring is all wrong.

i dont know the "history" of J.R., but i DO know that if this picture has his signature 2, then the other one is fake. i thought so from the begining anyway..... apple would N.O.T. release sumthing this crappy. Photoshop at its' best in the pic of the orange one..... photoshop at its worst in this one.
hey, get out your rulers and measure the ipod tall-wise and then the box tall-wise, and see what you come up with....it's pretty sad. no way that could fit in there! at least could've stretched the box a little, huh?!?!

Definitely fake. If you look at the previous picture the structure was rounded like in the spy photos of the supposed case, this isn't the case in the top view, its just flat like the original 2G iPod. I know the picture is a bit choppy, but if you save it and zoom out everything clears up, except the screen; it stays jagged. Besides, Apple doesn't normally make their products worse (of course depending on who you ask, or what you're talking about) but they wouldn't make the screen smaller. That's just not their product focus.
Whaddya mean, old style squeeze connector? My iPod Classic from December 2007 has an "old" connector. Or was there a redesign since then that I'm not aware of?
And what the hell is with all the hate? You people probably couldn't design an innovative product if it violated you in your own room tonight. I'll admit that the constant planned obsolescence of the iPod line is a little annoying, but it at least shows that they work through their flaws and try to release new, redesigned products at least as fast as us tech junkies are demanding them.

Fake! The pics released before had an eliptical shape from the btoom. You know thinner at the ends, thicker in between. This one looks like a Photoshopped Nano 2G. all he did was jus tpull the screen up a little; but the actual design doens't resemble the pics b4 one bit!

Also i work for a UK Supermarket and the iPod Shuffle are now deleted so maybe watch for new shuffles.
I think Apple is going god ressurect the iPod Mini, not replace the Nano. Does anyone else feel this way?
Ok, so this "unboxing" of the 4g ipod nano. YEA RIGHT. Its an ipod nano 2g with an elongated screen and the scroll wheel moved down. They arent going to bring back the bigger click release cock connector. The other ipod nano 4g looks a little more convincing (the bronze looking one if you havent seen it). BUT apple could be releasing something totally different and this is what everyone thinks it will look like.
After Checking this in Photoshop, Compared to the Dimensions leaked last week, the Screen on this is longer than the dimensions stated. and, it also shows the screen would be rounded at edges, in which this is not.
Not sure what to believe yet.
Fake. Fake fake fake fake. Fake. Look at the USB connection cable. Why in the name of [insert curse word here] would they go back to the old squeeze-to-release cable? They JUST came out with the cable they're using now and I for one haven't heard any complaints about the design. I think that the new iPod will be close to this but this is very obviously a photoshoped 2g nano. The color is wrong. I mean apple MIGHT have decided that the color scheme of the 2g was better, but I highly doubt it. Also, look at the reflection on the body panels. It gives away the shape of the unit and the shape is, to be honest, all wrong from the blueprints and other info we've seen. Personally I'd love it if apple abandoned the fatty design and that this was actually a 4g nano but, lets face it, this is a faux image.
If these are the "real" contents of the "new" 4G nano, where are the headphones? Photoshop those in!
TIP:- Just look at the dock adapter, its the one which ships wit old nano.

this isnt fake probly and old post but its confirmed here is my review
ive been looking at this like this all day...im gonna buy it but i saw 2 things of concern
1 its alluminum so depending on the thickness it could dent or puncture easily and and 2nd it has a glass screen so it will scratch fast if u abuse it and im a dude so im pretty prone to dropping things but maybe my outlook and opinion will change once i recieve mine
