400x50gb = Oh snap.
ppfftt, that's only 20, 1 terabyte drives.
I don't understand something here at Engadget. Just because Sony won the High Definition DVD wars and Toshiba lost it, does Toshiba constantly have to be taunted? Anything Toshiba puts out is automatically "crap"? I think we should be appreciating the fact that Toshiba not only competed with Blu-Ray, it also showed us that High Definition players can be had for $99.99. Have you seen a $99.99 Hi-Def player since Toshiba went down? No. Their discs were cheaper, hardware was cheaper, and picture quality seemed the same. Since the movie studios decided to back the more expensive side, Toshiba had to give up....do you expect them to immediately start making Blu-Ray players? Something that it competed against very recently? I doubt it. They will probably start making them eventually but not immediately. But why not applaud their effort for giving competition. Why not applaud their effort in things such as the new Regza TV they came out with ("Make everything you watch feel like HD"). Even if they made just a little gain in making non-HD stuff look a bit clearer (better algorithm?), isn't a little gain better than nothing?
if only I could make that my hard drive I wouldnt care how slow it was
I find quite a few Toshiba products to be outstanding, actually.
But this is CEDIA. If you bring a VHS player to CEDIA, expect to get ragged on.
Looks like a giant cookie monster...
Actually, it's a giant bear. It just looks odd from that angle. I'll put up a link to a picture I took of it during the DNC once I get home from work...
ok i see the pointy thing is an ear
CEDIA 2008 summary: nothing cool.
What about that thx soond proof door. Always wanted a door with a name on it. ;P
No kidding. Woop-tee-doo: new TVs and Blu-ray players. Word on the street is that they feature minor upgrades!
Engadget staff - please could you stop putting things like "click on through" and stuff? We know how to access the body of an article without having our hands held, and phrases like after the jump look hideously dated and teeth-grindingly cringe inducing. Nobody on a tech oriented website is going to suddenly be lost and think, oh god where is the article, where is it?!
Just stop it.
omg where do i go...where do i go.. I'm cold and confused.
You are pathetic, Grow up.
Oh my god, change your tampon. its not like it harms you in anyway.
Hetty, why don't you just fuck the hell off.
Oh, yeah, I forgot everyone who is interested in tech, already knows everything about it. asswipe(as-weep-a)
Hetty, click on through to the ass-whooping of your lifetime.
i wont be impressed with the wireless HDMI boxes until it is a all in one HDMI/ Composite/Component/VGA/Cable Box so you only need one set top and no wires
that would be soooooooo bad ass
Wish i would have realized this was in Denver, i would have tried to go and check it out.. even if their was anything ground breaking it would have still been pretty cool.
Why is the Cookie Monster attacking the building?
'cuz he sees cookies in HD!!
Finally. I was sick of reading about all the TVs, projectors, and Blu-ray players that I will never buy.
Cool that the 3 surviving members of the Village People turned up for the event.
"Let me in! I have blue balls" said the Bear.
Why is there so much Sony stuff in the list?
Cedia's a big show, I'm sure that Sony didn't take up 30% or so of the floorspace, why so much time dedicated to them.
