One more thing: New iPod shuffle colors

Although not announced, the iPod shuffle also got turned out in four new colors in addition to the ol' standby, (PRODUCT) RED. Still 1GB and 2GB for $49 and $69, respectively. Hey, what more do you want, aluminum MacBooks? See what's been left behind after the break.

I think even apple forgot about the Mac mini several years ago. Since then, it's just gotten more and more neglected, more and more old, and less and less novel.

What's sad is that the Atom reference mobo and hardware runs OSX86 out of the box, implying that it'd be easy for apple to build some reference box and put _real_ OS X on it. Then we could have our "low cost entry apple PC killer Halo Effect Endgame Win Scenario" or somesuch.

On second thought, no. It makes much more sense to force people into higher price point macbooks or iMacs instead. Strike that.

it really pisses me off when i go on to Engadget and see 6 comments about apple in less then a half an hour and then a 7th following right after it about an hour later. 7 comments people. I mean seriously who gives a $^%# about how many different colors the new shuffles have. If anyone actually buys an Ipod shuffle they don't deserve to live anyway. I further want to add that I personally do not have a huge gripe against apple until things like this happen or people come up to me on the train and ask if I am using the "fake Iphone" when I am indeed using using a windows mobile phone that's predecessors came out way before the Iphone. and also wtf is up with the time it takes to post a message on engadget.

I bought the original silver iPod shuffle for £50, roughly $100 at the time. I've been using it for the gym past 2+ years and its still going strong, never regretted buying it. I don't want to lug my 5G video at the gym, this is very light so i cant feel it weighing me down, clips on to my tracksuit waist or pocket. It has its own little dock charge sync which i just pop on when i get back home easy. I only need select tracks not my collection so i don't mind not having a screen since i change tracks mid workouts without looking, but that's not to excuse apple from putting one in c'mon apple!!

Point is this is a good product from apple, and me as many others find it useful and if it wasn't it wouldn't sell! just because you don't like it doesn't mean it shouldn't exist.

I bought my Dad a 1gb Product Red Shuffle for father's day and for someone who'd never had an MP3 player before, the Shuffle was cheap at £32 and offered decent looks, decent software integrations and was small and offered customisation. I had it engraved for him and gift wrapped. You wouldn't get that presentation with similar, cheaper MP3 players available on the high street, which is one area where the iPod will always win. As a gift, it felt great to give him something decent and he gets nightly use out of it. Guess I deserve to die now, considering I bought it for him...

Well, it would mean I could escape those who apparently hate all these Apple posts, but boost Engadget's stats by adding their comments to it, instead of ignoring it.

The Shuffle is awesome. After 5 Zens which were all cack it's been a breath of fresh air for 2 years. Reliable, simple and fast.

Might go to a new Nano soon, 16gb would hold all my music nicely =)

Wow it amazes me how an article about the new iPod shuffle colors gets turned into a B**ch session for people. Anway my comment for the article is that its nice to see a refresh of any sort on the shuffle, I one one that I use in my car on a daily basis (not a long drive to and from work but not worth swapping CD's) and usually every 3-4 days I dock it, shufle the music and I'm good to go. I went with the shuffle because we have a Nano for my wife, and I realized every time we use it, we put it into shuffle, put it into a cubby on the dash, and never look at the screen at all. Also with the clip on the shufflle I can clip it to my under shirt at work, run the headphones under my polo and wear it all day and if I get up and go somewhere, I just pull the headphones out and no one even knows I'm wearing the thing.
