Is there any hope for any advances in netbook-class processing other than the dual core Atom recently mentioned?

According to AMD's 2008 roadmap, the Atom may get a rival come this November, in the form of an "Ultra Value Client":

I'm hoping AMD will pair it with a HD-capable chipset, like the mobile variant of the 780G, but realistically, probably not.
Re: The Samsung model - Looks elegant. Keyboard layout looks excellent. Hope it's in the 350-450 range. Here's to competition.

With netbooks dime a dozen, the only thing that can really impress me now is a low price.
This had better not be another 1024x600 screen. Why is HP Mini Note the only netbook with proper wxga?

The main thing giving me trouble on current small laptops is the keyboards, so it's good to see another one with a proper cursor key layout.

Looks like only Sony and Fujitsu haven't released netbooks.............yet.
Hopefully they will differ from all these others ones with the same old 1.6ghz Atom processors and 1024x600 screens, have a little variety.
Perhaps Fujitsu call theirs the U1010?
Oh, I can think of other companies that may be joining the party (like Apple). Since we now have Samsung as well as Sylvania, I would like to see somethin' from Mitsubishi or maybe even JVC.
What about LG and Panasonic? I believe they are due as well. (Panasonic, I'm waiting for a Toughnetbook.)

I think Apple wants us to see the Air as a "premium" netbook alternative. I really think that's as close as they're gonna come to a netbook. (Although, the fanboys out there would probably say that they already have something better than a netbook: an iPhone!)

This may be the classiest looking netbook yet! I think the only other netbook with such good looks is the Aspire One.
Definitely. I would pay a little bit more for this than other netbooks, just because it looks like it has great fit and finish.
