Samsung launches free Recycling Direct program for consumers
Hopefully by now you know that the gadget in your pocket or notebook on your lap is full of toxic ooze seeping into your fingers with every tap. This has retailers and manufacturers scrambling to help you recycle those wares, the latest being Samsung with its new Recycling Direct plan. It expands on the company's trio of limited recycling programs that cover only mobile phones, toner, and office equipment. The new program will accept any obsolete or broken product free of charge -- assuming it has a "Samsung" label somewhere on it. (You can recycle other stuff too for a fee.) Partnerships are currently being negotiated with "respected" facilities in all 50 states, meaning you'll be able can lay your old celly or washing machine to rest in person starting next month.

I'm gonna start selling Samsung lables on ebay for a tidy profit. Or a greener earth... or a tidy earth profit. Don't steal my idea!
yeah, whatever, a stencil for spray paint is a better idea.
See? You went and stole it on me!
Recycle=send to China?
Samsung could always attack the root of the problem and just stop making cell phone...
Bought one.. DOA, threw it in the garbage as it was a prepaid phone.
Just got the Upstage for a free upgrade... worked for 3 mins and then konked out...
That and Samsung cell phones are garbage...
I hate Apple, but darn, people are selling broken iPhones for $300... Samsung is selling phones for $30 with $40 prepaid airtime and they still cannot get rid of them...
Other than that Samsung makes outstanding all in 1 printers...
I bought two Samsungs phones almost two years ago and I don't have one single complaint at all. I'm quite pleased with the quality. Maybe you got "lucky" from the person you bought your phone from. Who knows.
yea have to say that i like my Samsung phones.. I have had 2, i like the interface (simple) and very sturdy. Only upgraded because i was bored of the phone.
You pay for recycling of your products? So, you buy something, and then you buy it being thrown in a garbage bin?
I'll give you all a free idea: if Samsung paid like 10 cents per recycled product, it would make MUCH more sense. In my humble opinion.
there's something wrong with that picture... the sky under the hands full of dirt... i see dirt in the face... dirty mouth? clean it up!
No no no!
Those are poison ivy leaves!

Is that poison ivy or basil? I never know for sure until I taste the pesto.
QUICK!
Get that plant to the captain!
By YOUR powers combined, I am Captain Planet!
So I'm wondering how much more the Samsung products will cost to purchase now (in order to offset this altruistic return program)? ;-)
Once again profit to be made at the idiocy of saying something will be green or protecting the Earth (which needs no protecting).
This is a way to get tons of free scrap metal, plastic, and other material that Samsung will breakdown and sell off or re-use.
We should get some small payment for sending it in.
in some areas you get fined if caught improperly disposing of stuff. a pretty hefty fine.
kid in my neighborhood got a 400$ fine for trying to throw out his samsung CRT which lasted 5 years in an always-on environment.
getting rid of it for free is great, and when a company offers a new service which is free, people shouldn't bitch *cough*
when was the last time ANY company paid you money for sending something back to them?
wait you say the earth needs no protecting? Actually if you just look around where you live you will see all the trash and things we do that destroy our planet. Don't forget all the species that we have killed off, and all the plants, and the pollution, and the strip mining we do, o and the deforestation, and dumping of pollutants in the water, I can continue if you want....
assuming it has a "Samsung" label somewhere on it.
so i can write Samsung on my say broken xbox and get it recycled? Because that would be awesome!
God! Some companies are f*****g morons; charging people, simply because the piece of hardware doesn't condone a Samsung label? I was beginning to have faith in them; however, now I see the true coporate side of them.
