When Ubuntu is able to fully suspend/hibernate/standby, then I will adopt this Linux OS.
8.04 suspends/hibernates and returns just fine on my laptop. In fact, it's been perfect since I've upgraded, hasn't failed once.
Then six months ago is your day. ;-)
Ubuntu 8.04 fully supports suspend and hibernate on my Dell Inspiron 1501. Even the shitty Broadcrap wireless card "Just works".
This is a proprietary video driver issue, not an ubuntu issue, fyi. Usually nvidia-related.
