Greenpeace likes new iPod nano, congratulates self
Although they still rate Apple behind Sony Ericsson, Sony, Nokia, Samsung, Dell, Toshiba, Acer... (you get the idea) in its quarterly guide to greener electronics, Greenpeace tossed a bit of love to the boys from Cupertino for the new eco-friendlier iPod nano. In a blog post titled "less toxic iPods rock," Greenpeace praised itself as victorious in its own "Green my Apple campaign" before chiding Apple for not doing more to green all of its products. Hooray, a victory for Greenpeace, shame on you Apple for uh... oh never mind.

Greenies and their "green peace"... meh. MEH! Somebody needs to take some pew pew to their swollen green ego's..
What a story ! Did Steve Jobs not pass any interesting wind today ?
Your new toxically reduced iPod nano, still manufactured in China then shipped all over the world.
A new nano that was designed to last for 20 years, not thats an enviromentally friendly product.
I am actually very happy that Apple are making greener electronics. It is one of the reasons I love Dell so much as they are even better than Apple in this regards. I am sick of getting products home that are spewing chemicals out for the next few months, it is not necessary and irritates my eyes and skin.
Apple says they're way ahead of Dell.

After carefully reviewing this picture, I have decided that only one of the following can be true:
a.) The people at Greenpeace are so tiny that we shouldn't really take them seriously anymore, just like I never put much stock in David the Gnome.
b.) Steve Jobs is so large that he should be considered a real threat, like Mothra.
Aresenic in the glass...you aren't supposed to eat the iPod...
The facts of the matter are:
1) This is a step forward, but it's nothing new for Apple.
2) Apple is a secretive company. They don't talk about internals.
3) Greenpeace ranks companies by their green policies announced on their websites. (Thus Nintendo's low ranking with no credibility on Greenpeace's part, and the conflict between #1 and #2 not figuring into their numbers.)
4) Greenpeace singles out Apple for one reason and one reason only. They are a known brand with a high level of brand-recognition.
5: Engadget should not mention them ESPECIALLY when they send out self-congratulatory press releases unless them mention relevant facts to put their newspeak into context.

If Apple's claims are true, they're way ahead of their competitors. So either Greenpeace is bunk (likely) or Greenpeace is using biased criteria so that higher-profile companies will show up on top of their list (also likely).
I don't see DRM-Free on that list.
Fuck the pOlice, I smoke weed evry day of my life I don't giva Fuck
Enviro-Douches Rejoice, I guess.
Does this mean that I can finally swallow my new ipod?
this looks pretty cool and its good for the enviroment :) And i am recycleing my old iPod at Venjuvo.com, the plus is that they give u money for your old stuff, like iPods :)
wait tons of ipods are filling up landfills and contaminating our water supply? Where are these landfills? I want free broken ipods.
I see Greenpeace is masturbating in public again. Yeah, good for you for doing nothing.
No, actually though Apple is desperately trying to please Greenpeace, 'cause they're the reason for a fat bottom line.
