It's Tuesday and the on-line store is down which can mean only one thing: new aluminum MacBooks. Huh? Oh, the Zune store is down. Well, in that case the Zune 3.0 software update is just around the corner.
Man. This one never gets old. It's like oh man this guy is so witty, I wish I could marry him. I'd go freaking gay just for that wit. Please, Tim, spill some of that wit all over me.

well i have work in the morning so im not. i'll just check it out when i get up lol. i waited this long, i can wait a few more hours for sleep. but im sure ur not.
That's exactly why.. Apple doesn't release new laptops every month.. Besides.. It's not like Engadget doesn't cover the new laptops that come out every month.. And it's not Engadget making it a huge flipping deal.. It's all the comments that accompany that article that make it a huge flipping deal.. And yea.. Supply and demand dictates things from there~
I like how Engadget has coverage on the Zune now just as they always did for Apple. Makes me feel kinda special, but then not really since they can't help but mention Apple in every article. Get over it guys. Geezus
despite being called Zune3, the stuff on download (currently) appears to be the previous version - packages marked 4/29/2008. name and mod date of the higher level dirs promise v3 - but looks like we'll have to wait a little while longer.
Actually, what happens is when I hit reply, IE refreshes the page, then I need to hit reply again. Sometimes I forget, and then stuff like this happens.

Mobius_1 @ Sep 16th 2008 1:34AM
As someone outside North America, I wish I can say I care... Come on Microsoft, make the Zune worldwide
jhoeforth @ Sep 16th 2008 2:10AM
Hey fanboi, didn't you noticed? There are at most 3 of you who thrash Zune in this article, your number keeps getting smaller and smaller. =))

v3xx @ Sep 16th 2008 1:08AM

"hey baby can i install my firmware in your 1g brownie"
aaron @ Sep 16th 2008 1:41AM
@Brian
3G firmware? What the Hell are you talking about?
brad77 @ Sep 16th 2008 1:54AM
He means third generation firmware on first generation Zunes.
riggs @ Sep 16th 2008 8:12AM
scroll up aaron....scroll up.
ironman @ Sep 16th 2008 1:03AM
can't escape apple comments even in a Zune post, eh?
Conor Kirkpatrick @ Sep 16th 2008 1:28AM
Nope, especially not when someone mentions Apple.
kojo87 @ Sep 16th 2008 1:34AM
of course not. its engadget. although if they didnt mention Apple this post would have been literally one sentence long.
and i will never get why its such a huge flipping deal when Apple releases a new laptop and everyone else is putting new ones out every month.
Sirius @ Sep 16th 2008 2:00AM

shoulda titled it "we'll be back zune"
i dont like microsoft but i hope they slap apple in the face and get em back in line.
computer.dude.28 @ Sep 16th 2008 1:13AM
Here in Canada, the advertisments said coming Zune before they were released.. They should have kept the pattern :P
wetworker @ Sep 16th 2008 1:29AM
W00t!! 3.0 is upon us.

It's Engadget policy.
Apple post contains Apple and Microsoft post contains Microsoft AND Apple.
Chris @ Sep 16th 2008 3:27AM
Engadget is like one of those fancy salads. There's always a bit of fruit in there that nobody asked for.

I'm dismayed that this update won't bring unicode support. Biggest complaint I've had with my 80GB.

goodnight.
MastrCake @ Sep 16th 2008 1:23AM
I'm kinda stuck with my iPod Nano "fatty".
You know what they say. If it ain't broke...
Aw, who am I kidding? Rules are meant to be broken, right? Riiiight?
Zack @ Sep 16th 2008 1:27AM
Zune 3.0 download link is live at http://download.microsoft.com ! Search for Zune in the downloads search.
Tomoki @ Sep 16th 2008 1:35AM
Which is why in the body of the listing, it says version 2.5. Just wait this one out, folks.
Hidesquadron1 @ Sep 16th 2008 1:37AM
That link must be mislabeled. File details state its the 2.5 update from this past spring. Nice eyes though, I have no idea why it would say 3.0 now.
booboisie @ Sep 16th 2008 1:50AM

I kinda get your point
You know, becuase NOBODY knows that this outage is for 3.0, right? And that Zune logo in no way resembles the obvious, riiiight?
MastrCake @ Sep 16th 2008 1:30AM
That post was meant for Computer.dude.28.
This IE8 stuff is really getting on my nerves, even when in compatability mode. Maybe I should just give up on IE altogether.
Endejas @ Sep 16th 2008 2:40AM
It's not IE8. It's Engadget.
Be lucky you haven't had it more.
