Lenovo rolls out bundle of new enviro-minded ThinkVision monitors

Lenovo's already kicked out a pair of low-end ThinkVision monitors that promise to do their small part for the environment, and it's now finally expanded that enviro-mindedness to some of its higher-end offerings. At the very top of the heap is the 24-inch L2440x (pictured above), which boasts the usual 1920x1200 and some less-than-common white LED backlighting, which is apparently a first for a Lenovo monitor. Those looking to keep things fluorescent-backed can also opt for the otherwise identical L2440p, or you can drop down to the 22-inch L2240p monitor, which also scales the resolution back to 1680 x 1050. Rounding out the latest offerings are the 17-inch L1700p and 19-inch L1940p, which unsurprisingly offer the biggest energy savings and, like the other models, also pack less mercury content than your usual LCD monitor. Look for the whole lot of them to be available by the end of this month, with prices ranging from $230 to $750.

IPS or it didn't happen.
How on earth did I get - for that? Are you guys going soft on good LCD's?
Disappointed. Come on Lenovo...I'm still waiting for the iThink.
Saying, "I can't wait to iThink." is like saying "I really need the iRape."
that is ugly!
Hmm, I hope this doesn't mean that the L220X won't be discontinued. For those that don't know, the L220X is a 22" S-PVA display that runs at 1920x1200! I've been eyeing it for some time now as a replacement for my Dell 2001FP. Such a shame that it's so hard to find decently priced LCDs with good color!
Argh, nice double negative I got in there! Correction: I hope this doesn't mean that the L220X will be discontinued.
Preview and editing functions would be greatly appreciated!
since when does Green=Ugly? every power saving monitor i have seen looks like sh*t. seriously, is it that hard to put a nice looking bezel on a monitor.
Now if ViewSonic could just put a damn 8-bit or better IPS in their "pro" line.
-dare I say even an LED backlight for the fiasco that is the VP950b.
Yeah, come on! Tell us the type of panel it uses. And tell us the contrast ratio and % of the NTSC color gamut it can do. Why is it manufacturers seem to hide those figures? Showing me a grey-to-grey time is worthless compared to color, contrast, and viewing angle.
I'm with web2.oh -- a decent S-PVA with 1920x1200 is harder to find than you would think (the L220x is the only one)!
is this the cheapest LED display on the market? actually, is there another LED display except for the high end samsungs?
Hm, still waiting on a 24" (or possibly 27") LED-backlit 2560x1600 LCD.
Good thing LED are getting more common in LCDs, though.
What is the program that is open on the screen?
