Sony stuns with SRX-T110 / SRX-T105 4k x 2k projectors
Picking up where the SRX-R220 left off, Sony's new SRX-T110 / SRX-T105 4k x 2k projectors are likely headed right to a museum, cinema (lucky!), or "digital planetarium" near you. Each SXRD device touts a staggering 4,096 x 2,160 native resolution and contrast ratios of 2,500:1. Separately, the T110 comes in much brighter than the T105, offering 11,000 lumens over the latter's 5,500. Those of you hoping to sneak one of these into your home cinema without placing too heavy a burden on the plastic Centurion will probably be disappointed; the T110 will ring up at ¥12.7 million ($120,460), while the T105 demands ¥8.3 million ($78,725). Both should arrive in Japan this November.

Is there ANY other company that makes $12 crap FM radios AND high end quality stuff like this?
You're joking right? Most of these companies are incredibly diversified. Study LG and affiliated companies. Nokia used to be a tire company.
Well that explains their obsession with plastic cases.
I didn't ask about affiliates...I'm asking about a company that slaps its name on a $12 electronic product and a $78k one.
Nokia doesn't have $12 phones afaik.
LG doesn't have $12 electronics afaik.
My POINT is that SONY is too diversified and needs to decide...upmarket or not.
The price is what turned me flacid.
I don't even block the logo...I just pretend it's 10 years in the future and SONY has diversified even more...
and we'll just pretend you replied to the comment below.
block the sony logo with your thumb and this thing looks like a tank with a giant beam canon.
Looks like the Millenium Falcon cockpit to me.
My first thought was something out of Halo... Kinda cool!
You don't need to block the logo... Sony DOES make a hypertank with a beam cannon that looks strikingly similar. KAV-WT7600ES.
Also, to the, "WHY ARE SONY SO DIVERSE!?" crowd, Samsung makes TVs and microwaves. They also make backhoes and other heavy construction equipment. And don't get me started on Yamaha.
obviously an hommage to apple's 1st stab at digital photography
I did exactly that allislost and i must say u are right! :)
Something that can display Red One films directly. Neat.
yeah, now all you need is a computer that can output 4k at a smooth 24 frames per second and you'd have yourself a nice workstation.
Or whenever RED releases their RED RAY 4K playback device that they announced at NAB.
We have one of these at work and it is amazing!!!
Wow I'm so jealous.
shoot. Sorry, that was in reply the the gent below.
Dude, you are all sorts of mixed up.
Sigh, I know...maybe they should stop letting me sleep at work eh?
Or let you sleep more...
get back to work!
pew pew! Right out of the emperor's private theater!
Wow... nice kit... and damn its cheap...
Yes £40k [about] is cheap for a 4k cinema projector... The ones in current digital projectors in cinemas cost about twice that price.
Too bad there's no consumer movie media that can utilize this resolution.
Is it IMAX quality yet?
Jeez, why are these things so expensive? It's bad enough that there is hardly any 4K content. Even if I owned a movie theatre this is still a tough investment (since I would have to buy one for each auditorium). It's going to take a while before this thing gets widely accepted.

*hope this doesn't double post*
Sweet, a stealth bomber for 100k
Just waiting for Powerball to draw my numbers....
You guys do know these projectors are for Digital Cinemas right? and they're sold under the Sony commercial/business subsidary.
