The Cuffless Cufflink button hack
We've covered a surprisingly robust number of nerdy cufflinks in our day -- now this, the Watch Movement "Cuffless" Cufflink. Designed by Grace Acosta, these faux cufflinks made from "shiny vintage watch movements" snap onto the cuff buttons of an ordinary oxford shirt -- no fancy french cuff required. $55 and available now, ironic mustache not included.

Splendid!
Indubitably!
Want.
best way to dress a nerd?
1. make it easy
2. make it techie
That would go great with my steampunk laptop and cylinder hat!
My thoughts exactly! I need a set of these for when i'm using my computational engine.
These things are cool. Cufflinks from everything geeky!
nice, almost makes me want to wear a shirt
I bet they could double as clip-on nipple rings, so you're covered either way.
What you wear is a poor substitute for what you think and do.
but it sure is great for a first impression!
Those are awesome!
It's really too bad the one pictured isn't (yet?) available. Those look really sharp, and I'd probably order some. I don't like the other set they have on their site. I'll keep checking back and hoping...
Reminds me of that "into the future" Simpsons episode where Lisa's going to marry. In one word: No.
Interesting and attractive. However the entire concept is somewhat flawed: buttoned sleeves sit flush with the arm, and thus these 'links would face down (under the wrist), where they less likely to be seen. They would be a pain in the wrist too, when you are typing.
Cufflinks are an extremely old-fashioned way to close the end of your sleeves and are thus mostly consigned to ceremonial clothing (e.g. wedding garb) and 'posh' shirts. The use of 'French' cuffs results in the 'links facing outwards, where they are more easily seen.
Snazzy looking, but will they work with real french cuffs?
This is like wearing a clip-on tie. Not good. mf
Are they BT enabled?
yeah, its called a button cover, and Midwestern hausfraus have been wearing them for decades. FAIL
You'll look like a major tool if you wear cufflinks on a non-french cuff shirt. Its one of those things where you're trying so hard you don't realize how stupid you look.
Agreed. Especially when REAL cufflinks are available in this "techie" watch movement style.
This reminds me of George Costanza when he used cufflinks on a regular shirt.
A slight breach of fashion etiquette, at the very least.
Or you could look on Etsy:

This looks like something I would put on ALL of my buttons!
Where do I attach these to my 'meh' t-shirt?
You should not where these with a T. Unless, of course, you're also wearing a clip-on tie; then you should wear clip-on cufflinks.
*Drool* I want these :)
It's not a cufflink, it's a button cover.
Sold out on Etsy today. =_=;;
Do a check on Etsy, there are plenty listed under "cuffless cufflinks"..
Interesting points raised in these comments. I think girls can wear them without fear of being sent home by the concertmaster or something, and you can get ones like these at http://www.rivkasmom.com, if they're still sold out where you were looking before.
