G1 appears on T-Mobile's site

Snap -- looks like the Android-powered T-Mobile G1 is peeking out a little early in the form of a non-working pre-registration link on the my.t-mobile.com customer portal. No specs or info, but if you had any doubt this thing was coming on Tuesday we'd say it just got cleared up. Get ready for the Googlephone, kids.

I knew i while back that it was going to be called the G1.

Ive already uploaded the latest videos to my website http://www.g1tube.com and will be adding new videos as and when they leak.

G1 it is, also i wouldn't be suprised if google put details on there website G1phone.com

Apparently this doesn't show up for everyone... because when I log on to it for my account, the page that I get looks nothing like this page, and there is no "Introducing the New T-Mobile G1" at all.

i dont have it either. im hoping it doesn't have anything to do with me not being in a 3g area. The rumor was preorders were for 3g areas only, but i find that hard to believe and would piss off a LOT of people/

@ Ronald Raygun: I don't think that's the issue, because I am in a 3G market, and it didn't come up for me.

@ Matt: I tried the same thing (great minds think alike) and I was able to get the page too... but I have no idea how to get there otherwise. It looks like some kind of universal Welcome page, but my welcome page looks nothing like it.

Interesting that the image name includes KILA as that was the internal reference to the phone as the "iPhone KILA".

I dont see the G1 doing that but simply an introductory device for programmers to work away on to build the later generations which could in fact earn the term KILA.

Whats not mentioned is that ASUS was invited to the OHA which I think could be huge for coming up with that Smartop Phone that can make the mobile web truly usable as I posted in http://www.googleandblog.com/open-handset-alliance-covet-asus/3158/

You'll be able to drive a harder bargain if you're out of contract. If you're not getting what you want, tell them that you're going to go to ATT and get you an iPhone. Or just ask for customer retention :)

Your contract on what? If you're already on T-Mobile, you're in luck, since you are eligible for best upgrade pricing at 22 months.

You'll get your best price once you're out of contract - T-Mobile will bend over to keep you as a customer. In other words, if you're not getting a good price on the phone, try this:

- Tell them that you're going to move your service over to ATT and get an iPhone, or
- Just ask for customer retention ;)

Looks like T-mobile are doing things with their website for the G1.

It now works but only shows the words fpo???

check it out - looks like we will be able to see the real thing soon enough!
