I had the same issue, I got in touch with one of the moderators at the official lenovo forums, who connected me to one of the higher ups in the customer service department. Long story short, I was given 3 options, return the x61t with a full refund (no restocking fee), sending the x61t to the "veteran" engineers to personally fix my problem, or getting a brand new one build and hoping that it doens't have teh same problem. I chose to get my money back. This was all done within warranty period, so if yours ran out, it might be to late.

With all the problems that the x61t has, they should replace all x61t owner's tablet with this one for a nominal fee...
I've been sending my tablet back every month for repairs until my warranty ran out and it still has problems.
Like the bottom half of the screen becoming distorted, and the only way to fix it is press the lcd bezels together....
