Nokia's E72 candybar and E75 slider with QWERTY keyboards leaked
A Nokia promotional video has apparently been leaked to YouTube revealing a pair of an unannounced, business-minded handsets: the E72 QWERTY candybar and E75 QWERTY slider. Check all the hot corporate, S60 video action after the break -- who knew architectural planning could be so easy?

First...
To mention how unremarkable these phones are.
I really hope those are fakes...
They're E series phones. Not targeted at you, but business users.
How many keyboards dose it need to have?
this is not cool...
i'm very interested about the E75.I was planning to purchase the E71(Grey Steel)Might hold out for this one!
Is that the first S60 phone with a regular dial pad and a qwerty slider?
Technically not - the E90 also has both, but uses a different form-factor...
Sliderrrr...
I actually recommend the E-series to anyone... The qwerty slider should be magnificent.... Candybars with horizontal sliding qwertys are always winners.
It's supposed to be the other way around: the E72 is the QWERTY-candybar and the E75 is the QWERTY-slider.
I myself was thinking of the E71 (Nokia, Symbian), but I also liked the design of the HTC S740 which is the same as the E75: candybar with a QWERTY-slider. But the main thing against the S740 was of course Windows. So I'm very happy to see this design being implemented by Nokia as well...
Now for a release date? E71 hasn't been out that long, so I'm very curious whether this will be a matter of 2-3 months or like 9-10 months....
Can we finaly hope for a VGA-Screen? I want to have a business-phone where I can read PDF without horizontal scroling!
I was going to buy an E71 this afternoon... I'll hold out for the E75 now.
You'll never get to buy a phone then, there's always something new on the horizon. And chances are the e75 will be similar enough to e71 that it will hardly matter.
Dear Lord,
Please free us from chrome trim, gloss and excessive white-wearing.
Actually it's the other way around. Thank god for real metal used in phones.
E71, E66 have one of the best builds ever in phone and as this seems to be using the same design i'm pretty sure it got as good build.
Looks and build are pretty much the reason why people buy E series phones over N series.
Thank frigging God, Nokia. Finally an updated version of my E70 - only 2 yeas to late.
The problem now is that the goal posts have moved -I don't need a keypad on the front - make it all touch screen.
Oh well, maybe you'll actually put some memory and a decent CPU in it this time. And while your at it, a working joystick.
...Just had to get that of my chest.
This is true. From my year long experience with the E65, I'm very pleased about absolutely everything it does, except for the small screen for video playback. A touchscreen would make video playbacks (e.g. lectures) a lot better, without compromising the size of the phone.
Also why the G1 is my first choice now.
E75 looks really cool, shaped like E51 with a slide out keypad.
Definitely a Blackberry Replacement =)
I cant tell much different for E72 when E71 is still very new,
don't know what are the new features.
As for the O/S, look like typical E series without FP2 :-(
Oh, the video was filmed in Singapore, I spotted One Fullerton and the Esplanade (that thorny looking building in the background).
Geez....
One looks like the LG Rumor (though i would assume better)
the other looks like a BlackJack/MotoQ.
Usually Nokia has something at least interesting (I just saw a cool Nokia music phone yesterday).
Too bad that they are showing red coloured versions of these phones.
As both of them will probally be available in same color as E71 and E66 plus keep the same metal build these(one of the best build of any phone) will be couple of sexy phones... with out that red of course ;) And seems thin too. Will see if the slider takes E71 world thinnest qwerty name from it.
Oh and FP2 please!
I was going to get E71 next week.
Just wondering, what could be the actual benefits for waiting to get E72 then.
This video doesn't reveal basically anything new on the hardware side.
Platform is probably 3rd edition feature pack 2..
I see more rehashing from Nokia, change the shell and sell the same thing all over again. I wonder how long this can continue. What forward movement do we have here? What is the rationale for new models apart from keeping Nokia's marketing dept busy? I guess for some folks this is real innovation but fanboys on message boards refusing to holding companies accountable for stagnation don't sustain a business.
Business users have a lot of choice now, if you want a basic phone with email you do better than this and cheaper too, and these kind of folks who want basic functionality don't go around changing phones on a whim because of a so called new model. For the techies there who like new gadgets, need fully featured phones or something more exciting you have a lot more choice.
Hot! But why don't they have any freakn' N series QWERTYs ????
N810?
N810 isn't a N-series smartphone.
@PJD:
The Nokia N810 has 800x480 pixels which is perfect for reading PDFs without scrolling horizontally...

I think I'll skip the white E71 and pickup a NAM E75, if it happens.
AAS said there would be a few launches in October.
Considering my great experience with the Nokia E71 I'm currently reviewing, these should be winners.
I found the E71's reception to be pretty abysmal, actually.
maybe the E72 uses less metal on the case, so that the metal doesn't interfere with reception?
They got the #'s backward. The side-slider is the E75.
I'm sort of wondering what the difference is, other than cosmetics, between the E71 and E72, though.
Hopefully better reception.
Engadget is doin it wrong. The E72 is the E71 replacement and the E75 is the slider. Watch the video.
The E75 is what I have been waiting for from Nokia. Now only if it stands up against Android......
The photo in the top left corner, is that an E71 in red? I also saw an E71 in black through Google Images Search. I am planning on getting the E71 in Grey, the price is slightly lower then the version in white, are they charging by color?
I recently got a E71, and I must say it's one of the best built and well-executed phones I've owned or seen. It's officially targeted at business users, but it does everything else just as well.
If these are even better, then I would definitely recommend them over almost anything.
Hope future N series go qwerty as well, cause this seriously needs a bigger screen :p
Not good a design. The numeric pad wastes precious screen real estate. Here's what should happen. Take the E66. Make it slide sideways instead of the vertical slide. Change the keyboard to full QWERTY. Why? Screen real estate.
the E75 is awesome! had a chance to see and use it last weekend. same size as the E51 but with the QWERTY keyboard
