Samsung has just introduced a product with a name we can't help but love: NaBee. The smooth sounding device is actually a system for bringing
wireless USB technology to any camera with a USB connector. Packed within is Alereon's AL5000 Worldwide Wireless USB Chipset, which enables cordless communication between one's PC and digicam so long as the receiver and transmitter are within reach. Yeah, it's not nearly as elegant as
inbuilt WiFi solutions, but at least it gives those a year or two out from upgrading a shot at enjoying wireless USB transfers in the here and now. Mum's the word on pricing, but it should be out this December.

NaBee means butterfly in Korean. FYI.

Dang it, I totally was going to say that! You must be Korean as well. Or at least study Korean. Yay for Korea... and Korean LCD TVs! haha

FTA: "Plug the miniature dongle into the camera USB connector, and its matching dongle into the PC"
Sounds to me like it's the same as plugging a cable into the camera and PC. Or wait until cameras have that wireless stuff built in.
Why is this better than my card reader?

Exactly my thoughts, why would some one bother to spend money on something which barely makes life any easier!!!! totally pointless product in my opinion!

So this is what Wireless USB is for?
You need an additional power supply for the Wireless USB adapter.
For many cameras, using the USB driver is a pain.
Come on, EyeFi solutions is far better for this usage!

I am sorry but the WiFi SD card makes WAY more sense to me than this!

Imagine on a photoshoot for an advanced hobbyist though. This would rock. I could plant my XSi on a tripod and wirelessly connect it to my laptop?? Way cool!!

utterly and completely incorrect translation of NaBee. it's "I am Rain", like the pop singer. geeeesh.
EB @ Sep 23rd 2008 7:37PM
I don't want to bore anyone with grammar, Korean grammar nonetheless, but you're very wrong. In order for NaBee to mean "I am rain," it would need the subject article 'neun,' making it Naneun Bee. Since NaBee in one word means Butterfly, the others are correct, and you're wrong.

lets talk about the canadian election, shall we?
Wwhat @ Sep 24th 2008 5:17AM
Asus would have called it NaBeee I guess.
