GPS,
TomTom's ONE XL II makes pit stop in FCC database
Ever since TomTom's latest ONE navigator hit back in April, we've been left waiting, wondering when the next ONE XL would ever surface. Thanks to the FCC and its all-knowing database, we can confidently say that the unimaginatively named ONE XL II (what, ONE XXL was taken?) is well on its way to a US release. The user's guide doesn't give us much in the way of actual specifications, but based on the magnificently taken external photographs, we suspect this one will be more evolutionary and less revolutionary. Not that you couldn't guess that from the name, but whatever.

Christ, this comment system sucks more balls then a tranny on horsesteroids
The ONE XL has already had a successor. It's now simply called the XL.

The pictured XL is the first one. I know, because I have it. I bought my father the newer one and it's very cool. Thinner, ever so slightly cleverer-er... and with a much improved EasyPort mount. Still no Lane Guidance or IQ Routes though. That's still solely for the premium units at time of writing.
I have a TomTom ONE XL, and it's pretty awesome for the price, but if I could make one suggestion, it would be a suction cup that isn't awful. It's kind of embarassing when you're out on a date and you take a turn and your GPS unit comes flying off your windshield and bounces off the poor girl's knee (happened to me Friday night). Luckily she was a good sport about it!
This one has bluetooth functionality according to the manual, don't believe the old one did?
The old one did. But only for traffic updates via your carrier, much as this one has.

I dunno, she told me she was kind of pissed about it. Good thing that won't happen on our date this Friday. ;)
Nice try, but no.
Increase your suction cup's suck with a little rubbing alcohol on the cup and the windshield. Alternately you can use the adhesive disk that comes with the unit, but then you have that fancy black spot on your dash or console.
Did any one catch the traffic dongle in the pictures. The device my still be the same, if they release it with a new part number and name (or bundled with the traffic kit which uses a Radio signal) it might take another trip to the FCC to get it to Wal-mart.
Man... My TomTom ONE XL just flew out the passenger side of my jeep yesterday, it's time for me to get a new GPS... I guess I'll hold off on it till this comes out, though. And then I'll pay the exact same $195 for it like I somehow manage to for every GPS I buy.
So is this the photo and entry of the current TomTom model, or of an officially undisclosed forthcoming one?
