Nokia 5800 Tube press shot leaks into the wilds
One day after Google goes touchscreen, along comes what looks to be an official press shot of Nokia's 5800 XpressMusic -- aka, the Tube. No new details here, though Nokia appears to have cleaned up the industrial design around the buttons of some of those earlier prototypes we've seen. October 2nd looks like the date that we'll finally get our fill of the first S60 Touch handset. Though given the number of leaks and rabid competition Nokia faces in the touchscreen OS space -- our appetite for this device might be quickly satiated.

@ Anthony: that photo's actual size? look it in a 14" or 65" and I think it's not tha same size...so just take a piece of paper and draw it your own and there you can c tha ACTUAL SIZE...tell me if I'm wrong!
BTW I'm in love with this new TSphone...hope UI's better than we saw months ago...but after all my actual phone is a 1100 or something like that...LOL...that's THE big step for me! =)
Oooh shiny :) Reminds me of a Mercedes for some reason O_o
Gotta be honest. I have a 1st Gen iPhone (love it for what it does) and I am looking for a reason to get rid of it. After year it is a great device, but I want the ability to do things that other phones have had the capabilities to do for years - why do I have to wait until Apple decides it is the right time for me to get GPS, or MMS or flash or cut and paste or.... Damn....they are so slow.
The only thing that is stopping me is iTunes and my Mac. How can I get all my music across to another phone (iTunes bought: DRM'ed and not) onto another phone. My whole world is so simple right now...damn those closed tehcnical ecosystems.... and I am sure there are plenty of other people out there that feel the same way
Right now I feel like Apple has me by the short and curlies - AND IT HURTS!
Well you get what you deserve for buying DRM-crippled music. People like you were always the problem - the labels could get away with it.
As far as general synchronization with iTunes (plus photos/videos with iPhoto) - for Nokia S60 phones (like the 5800) you can use "Nokia Multimedia Transfer". You will also want the Nokia iSync plugin to synchronize your Address Book, iCal, and ToDo list items with your phone.
Just to state the obvious:
Non-DRMed music in your iTunes collection will play fine on the 5800 (and most Nokia phones).
that looks quite nice and sturdy! good job Nokia!
I wonder who will carry it. I'm hoping T-Mobile does!
Nice touchscreen phone, I hope its a user friendly handset. Its buttons looks little bit slippery.
