Seriously I have little faith in GM, this car is probably no better than taking one of those toy RC battery cars and making everything 1:32 scale bigger...
I would like to see a long term 1 year review...
Day 1: Brilliant, the only con is having people stopping me and asking questions every minute...
Day 30: WTF something is rattleing in the dash
Day 180: I miss my Big 4 Barrel 305
Day 364: GM you piece of....
Day 365: GM Volt should have been named GM e-Cavalier... now $40,000 with $30,000 rebate...
I don't blame anyone for losing faith in GM. GM has produced utter crap for so many years! Even if GM is improving, they are going to have a very hard time winning back consumers whose last experience with GM was owning one of their '80s or '90s crap-boxes.
I think many people (myself included for many years) blindly defend GM cars because that's all they've experienced. But if you took the leap to a proper made-in-Europe car like I did, you'd think differently. And it's not about "initial quality" or 0-60 times; BMW, Audi, and Volvo are still leaps and bounds ahead of GM in other less tangible ways, like the way the cars feel composed at high speed, feel solid on rough roads, and continue to drive like new for many years.

Commie
Your hate for GM is noted, the fact that you mention 305 carb tells me you're still thinking 1980's GM.
Good luck with whatever you're driving.
Whew, all this comment chit chatting is making me hungry.. I gues I'll call Hop Sing's and make an order...
Don't worry, I also hate Chrystler just as much.. its just I learned my lesson the first time I touched one of those cars...
