They must've missed the memo on the 5D Mark II, and the D90 before that. Oh yeah, and all those other camcorders out there that double as still cameras, which have been coming out since... oh, forever.
I don't know a huge deal about cameras but your comment seems pretty hasty. I'm guessing the difference between this camcorder and those models you mention is that this is primarily a camcorder and those are primarily DSLRs. If somebody is serious about making videos they're probably not going to buy the D90 because the fact that you can record videos is a secondary function. And I'm pretty sure handheld cameras haven't been recording full HD quality since forever...
Someone serious about making videos isn't going to buy this one either.
Actually, I think a serious videographer would more likely buy a big-chip camera with interchangeable lenses (like the upcoming micro-4/3 cameras) than a consumer cam with a tiny chip.
