LG shows off HS102 DLP mobile projector with built-in battery, DivX player
Pardon us while we lick our chops, but we're digging -- nay, loving -- LG's HS102. The finely tuned successor to the delectable HS101 boasts an 800 x 600 native resolution, 160 ANSI lumens, 2,000:1 contrast ratio, 4:3 / 16:9 output options, PhlatLight LED technology, and a built-in DivX player for good measure. On top of that, you'll also find an integrated rechargeable battery that'll keep things beaming for around two hours. It's said to be available now in South Korea for around ?670,000 ($555), and you can peep the read link for a few more images (including in-action shots).

Built-in battery? Does it mean that you can even watch it while on jogging? It actually looks better than those ripped-off pocket projectors..
Camping just got a lot more fun.
ruining dozens of moviegoers' experience by slapping a porno overtop what they're watching just got a lot more fun.
Sweet. I can bring my propaganda everywhere I go!
The pictures look ok. How large can the image be stretched before it looses quality? Also, does 160 ANSI lumens mean it can only be viewed in total darkness?
Wow all that for $555, plus phlatlight? WOW that is awesome.
Now give me one for about $1500 thats 1080p =)
Soooo does it have onboard storage, then? Or a card slot?
Looks like a USB port
For folks who are clueless on this thing's awesome specs visit the actual English website. It's there to ogle! No fooling!

I've used a prototype at home. It easily fills a wall sized area, 84" diagonal. The colors are
so saturated it will make you cry. We watched the animated movie "Hoodwinked", and it looked great. Yes, you do have to watch this in a substantially darkened room to get enough brightness.
so how heavy is this thing? And isn't two hours barely enough for movies?

I think I'll stitch 4 of these together and replace my primary monitor... just need some kind of 1-to-4 display thingie... probably a Matrox product like that.
PhlatLight? Does Queen Latifah head up their marketing department?
Is there any chance at all that this is coming to the US? The HS101 is impossible to find as well.
