Motorola flashes its OHA member card, confirms it's working on Android products
It goes without saying that any company hooked up with Android's patron saint -- the Open Handset Alliance -- has at least a passing interest in actually doing something with Android, and in Motorola's case, we're going to go out on a limb here and say that, you know, in all likelihood, they were fixin' to drop an Android build onto a phone or two at some point down the road. Indeed, BetaNews has received a brief, largely unhelpful statement from Moto saying that it "look[s] forward to delivering great products in partnership with Google and the Open Handset Alliance community," which -- in light of the recent Android hiring frenzy alleged on Moto's campus -- is about the minimum amount of disclosure a company could make shy of saying nothing at all. While it probably stings from their perspective to see HTC get all the glory for the first Google-ified phone out of the gate, let's hope (for their sake, if nothing else) that this stealth-mode, take-our-time philosophy leads to some killer material out of Schaumburg down the road.[Via Talk Android]

Are you that kid from a while back? His name was supercool or some shit.
Jerusalem is a county, i think you mean arabic or hebrew.
I think maybe you should try a little harder, I can't tell you're being an asshole yet.
Motorola is so desperate...
Uhh, not so much.
Motorola has really good hardware, it's their software that's a bit lacking. This might be the key.
lol replying to a troll but
what? how does improving on the software part (their weakness) desperate?
I agree with the software being their weakness but my question is why weren't they working on this when they first joined the alliance. Now, after HTC and the G1, they want to really get the ball rolling.
Say what? Really good handsets? Once upon a time, put they've gone way downhill. Hopefully they'll focus more of their energy on hardware R&D then trying to make a better OS. Android + Moto could be very good!
Moto has a good hardware but instead of pushing it within their own turf (That's US of A) they shove it down the throats of Europeans who are not too crazy about Moto. Bring Z10 and likes to this side of the pond and we'll have a winner. I do hate Moto though. These days it's basically rebadged clones of RAZR with an inferior OS that was good back in 2000.
i dunno, i'm hoping Moto can make a comeback
I betting first non-touchscreen android phone
hopefully better looking then the old android prototype and Q series
It's Schaumburg.
Indeed it is -- thanks.
Razrdroid?
no this one is gonna have a tazer built in mototzr
You all are silly. It will be NDRD :-)
I love that graphic. But I don't think this motorola thing won't bode well. All I see is android running on a flip phone, in other words a rzr on steriods. I will try and be a little more optimistic as more light is shed on this...
I think all of the Android phones are going to have at least Touch Screen, Camera, GPS, Wi-Fi, 3G and I think a lot will have a keyboard. The G1 makes use of all of the base features of Android, and I think it is going to be the benchmark
Now pardon me but Member? Flashing?
It is a shameful bunch of executives and non decisive leadership that has wasted Motorola image and brand value. They are not even able to keep up or just imagine trying to innovate. How many people and funding in R&D, how many years experience?
Android... The Dark Knight
it wont be a razor platform. Moto's had one of the most globally successful native linux platforms on a cell in EZX with the e680, a780, a1200 (ming) and e6 (rokr). Not that that's saying much, being ezx does kinda suck (I still use an a1200 as my main phone, and i've replaced ezx with opie). The a1600 should be coming out any time now, and from what I've seen, it'll be running ezx as well and is basically an a1200 with some additional hardware like gps on a bit of a more modern platform, using the same weak software base. No physical keyboard, btw (touchscreen only).
People at motorolafans.com have already ported android to run on the a1200. I'm pretty sure moto has internally, too, as its pretty trivial to do. But to really take advantage of android, they do need a new hardware platform with a large screen* and full keyboard (* = sorry q). I still wouldn't be surprised to see some android flashes available for the existing exz lines that are still supported or upcoming.
I still love that graphic so much, he looks like a south park character... I'm just waiting for him to fart or do something lewd and hilarious
We need a whole set of those graphics - one for each Android phone manufacturer...
Can anyone say Dr. Weird from Aqua Teen Hunger Force?
I dunno, that's what popped into my head. Nice logo in any case.
"Jerusalem is a country" You can put a full stop after that.
This kind of people makes comments about anything these days all over the world.
My suggestion is simple.. STFU and go and sell fruits in the market or you'll find better jobs than this awful one: to think. OMG
