HP's TouchSmart IQ506 gets reviewed, dissected
Who woulda thunk it? All-in-ones are officially back in. Yeah, some would argue that they never really left, but with Sony's latest family of monitor-bound PCs and HP's freshened TouchSmart line upping the ante, we'd say the war is back on. The high(er)-end TouchSmart IQ506 was recently taken for a ride over at DesktopReview, and it didn't take long for them to realize that HP was aiming for something very different with this machine. Rather than catering to the gaming or barebones crowd, this one emphasizes interaction and entertainment, and apparently, it did so in fantastic fashion. Additionally, those folks couldn't resist cracking the casing open and giving us a look inside, so if you've got a thing for untouched PCB and silicon, you know where to look.

I'd much rather have an iMac.
No touchscreen for you!
does this mythical iMac have a touch interface?
Agreed, especially since you can add a touchscreen on yourself, it's very easy actually.
I'd rather save £300 and go for a normal desktop with the same power minus touch capability. Seriously who needs this? The screen would eventually become so smudged and greasy it would require constant cleaning. And I'd rather save £600 and go for a similarly powered desktop to the iMac.
"Who would have thunk it?" nice use of a past participle of the word "think". Although it may be in the correct context, i can't help but think a redneck wrote this article. But then i think, rednecks aren't smart nor tech savy.
Funny thing, I'm very southern (read: redneck) and have poor speaking grammer when I don't care to be proper.
Yet, for some reason, I know quite a lot about hardware and networking.
Plus, my writing and typing skills are very acceptable as well, weird huh?
I'm sure speaking goodly make all y'alls friends think your a smart one.
You've never heard that phrase before?
I normally shorten it to "Who'da thunk it?"
Some people have no appreciation for poetic license.
There are even faster Touchsmart's due in less than a week. T8100, 4GB, 750GB HD, thats all I know for now. $2099 for that I believe.
Oh really? Wow, you must be psychic...
