Pandora pre-orders extended through the weekend

Well, you're in luck: the Pandora pre-order page will continue to accept your orders through Sunday, and production will be increased beyond the initial 3,000 units to meet the demand. So what are you waiting for? You already blew your first shot -- and this is will be your last chance to catch the open-source sensation this year. Go on, get!

Yeah I was struggling with the idea of getting this or an A1. I went with the Pandora just for the fact that the A1 may soon come out with a dual core atom CPU. If not, I can always get an A1 at anytime. The Pandora is too rare to pass up.
They Extended the order period again.
Now open until Noon, UK time on Monday October 6th.
So, East Coast US can order until 5am? Monday.
I know, not much of a change, but it will be interesting to see how many ponied up the dough.
They are just making sure that Sunday is over for everyone before they stop taking preorders.
As I said in another topic, and now this one, I have found out from fischju on the open pandora forum that the new Archos 5 has the same "...CPU, GPU, and DSP as the Pandora" It also runs a version of linux but is very locked down, my hope is that since the pandora is so close in hardware to the Archos 5 that there might be some cross work done to make it more open to use.
as a side note the pandora's screen is thought to be the same as the older archos 605
as there are not really many people looking into finding out how to open up the Archos 5, the archos 605 was opend, but closed a week later in a firmware update..

The Pandora is really a dream come true. How often is it that people who are in the position to do something, take the time out to listen and actually implement what tech consumers are craving for?
